• Teams or players who arrive later than scheduled start time, will forfeit games or face penalties. Please refer to rules for each sport for further details per sport.

• All players and teams are advised to copy their ORIGINAL Emirates ID in order to register at the check in desk. Players not carrying official Emirates IDs will not be allowed to participate in their sport(s).

• Players are advised to complete all forms sent through by Corporate Sports prior to the tournament day in order to ensure a smooth registration process on the day.

• Players are advised to provide the correct size of shirts. Corporate Sports are not responsible for ill fitting shirts if size provided is incorrect.

• Players are advised to adhere to playing all games in a fair and sportsman like fashion.

• Any players found guilty of misconduct or misbehaviour will be penalised. The organiser also reserves the right to disqualify a player’s entire team from the sport and eject them from the premises.

• Please respect the venue(s). The venue(s) has its own guidelines for visitors and, as such all participants are required to adhere to these guidelines.

• There is absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises. Person(s) found to be smoking at the venue will immediately be disqualified from the tournament and ejected from the venue.

• Although we will be providing sports equipment, players are advised to carry their own equipment in order to avoid any issues.

• Teams and players are required to wear the apparel provided to them for any sport they participate in.

• Please do not litter.

• Please respect the referees decisions.

• Any disputes arising during the competition must be taken up with organiser in a cordial manner.

• If there are any disputes, they must be brought to the notice of tournament organisers within 30 MINUTES of game completion. Any disputes that are brought to the notice of the organisers after the 30 minutes elapse will not be entertained.

1. ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility: Any UAE Resident having a valid Emirates ID and is working with an Organisation( Own/ Employed)

2. TOURNAMENT TIMELINE

Friday 28th – Group Stages Saturday 29th – Knockouts & Final

3. TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

3.1 The Corporate Sports Summer Tournament is conducted by Corporate Sports, Dubai.

3.2 This event is sanctioned by the UAE Badminton (UAE TTBA) .Individuals can take part in the tournament; provided they follow Entry regulations and the details are duly furnished.

3.3 The Championship will follow the Laws of Badminton strictly. The BWF General Competition Regulations (GCR) shall apply to the Championship to the extent of national tournament requirements, except for clothing and advertising.

The UAE Badminton Regulations & BWF Codes of Conduct (CoC, available for download from the below link) are applicable for this tournament.

3.4 In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Tournament Referee will be final.

3.5 The tournament will consist of Three Categories as given below.

3.5.1 Combined Doubles (1 Male and 1 Female).

4. TOURNAMENT FORMAT / SCORING

4.1 Scoring System - 3 x 15 (BWF, best of 3 games of 15 points) with deuce up to a maximum of 21 Points in the Round Robin Stage. Intervals and change of ends shall follow Alternate Scoring Systems (BWF Statutes Section 4.1.4).

4.2 From the Quarter Finals onwards the scoring system will be 3 x 21((BWF, best of 3 games of 21 points) with deuce up to a maximum of 30 Points).

4.3 The tournament initially will be played in groups, followed by a knockout draw. Initially, the teams in event shall play in groups of where all the teams in a given group play each other in Round Robin format. Based on the final overall ranking for each group, the teams shall be promoted to the Elimination Rounds.

4.4 Ranking in Group Play shall be in accordance with GCR 16.3.

4.5 Round Robin (RR) Stage will be followed by Quarter Finals.

4.6 Group stage. The below outline (as an example) is to give an understanding about the format in Group Stage.

4.7.1 Knockout Draw - The Draw (Double draw wherever applicable) for the knock‐out stage of the Competition shall be done immediately after the last match of the group play, in the below format.

4.7.2 Immediately following the conclusion of the group stage, there shall be a random draw to determine places in the knock out stage (Quarter Finals) with the Topper in each group being placed separately.

5.16 Officials: UAE Badminton Federation Certified.

5.17 Playing Surface: Indoor Cushioned Sports Hall (Blue).

5.18 A team that reports to the court any later than 5 minutes of the scheduled start of play will forfeit the game and the opponents (if present) will win with full points.

5.19 Any player withdrawing from either the qualifying or main draw after the publication of the draw without evidence or proof of “bona fide” injury, illness, bereavement or other emergency is subject to disciplinary action.

5.20 For the purpose of these regulations, retiring from a match in a Tournament, shall not be considered to be a withdrawal, however, should a Player be entered in more than one Event, by retiring or withdrawing from that one Event, the Player must be withdrawn from all other Events in which the Player is entered. (GCR 14.1.4).

5.21 If a team is unable to complete a match in a tie (e.g., retiring or conceding a match due to illness, injury or other unavoidable hindrance), the result of that match shall count as if completed without the conceding side scoring another point (GCR 16.3.8).

5.22 All events will run on a strict timetable. The team compositions must be submitted at least 30 (Thirty) minutes before the schedule match time. Competitors must be ready to play 20 (Twenty) minutes before the scheduled match time. If players are not ready to play at the scheduled time, they will be disqualified. Any changes to the schedule of play will be announced by the Referee.
