We are pleased to be introducing a new service for families called ‘Compass.’

This will become one of the primary means of communication between school and home. This software is intuitive, and easy to use. Parents, students and staff can access anytime, anywhere using their mobile phones, tablets or home computers.

Modules will be introduced gradually to help our families get used to this new method of communication.

Parents w ill have the ability to access the follow ing:

Access school News Feed to view posts specific to them

Monitor and enter student attendances and notes for absences or lateness

View students schedules and school calendar events

Book Meet the Teacher interviews and Student Led Conferences

In 2018 pay and provide consent for events, such as excursions, incursions and camps & much, much more

Stay Tuned......

COMPASS IS COMING ……. easy to understand and easy to use!

Showcasing some terrific Year One work!

The Year Ones celebrated Book Week by designing their own Reading Escapes! Wouldn’t we all like to

find a place to escape to and read our favourite books! This fitted perfectly with the Book Week theme

of Escape to Everywhere. For a STEM (Science, Technology & Maths) task they then designed a vehicle

to take them to their special place.

G e t r e a d y , g e t s e t f o r W a l k t o S c h o o l 2 0 1 7 ! Mt Martha Primary School has joined the hundreds of primary schools across Victoria for a fun month of walking, riding and

scooting to and from school. By participating, we have a chance to win some great prizes! So every time our local families walk,

ride or scoot to and from school during October, you increase our school’s chance of winning!

In 2017, we’re encouraging our kids to put their best foot forward by decorating their shoes, bikes or scooters to make Walk to School even more fun. Get involved with us for Walk to School and help your family build healthy habits for life: walktoschool.vic.gov.au.

A b o u t W a l k t o S c h o o l Every October, VicHealth’s Walk to School encourages Victorian primary school kids and their families to walk, ride or scoot to

and from school every day. It’s a great way for the whole family to increase their physical activity levels. Plus, it is a chance to

enjoy more time with your kids and meet other local families along the way. Along with the health benefits, it also reduces

traffic congestion, saves on parking, helps us connect with family and friends and saves the environment! Part way is okay! If

you can’t walk the whole way, why not try parking the car at Mt Martha House or the Walara Street shops and walk, ride or

scoot the rest. Last year, more than 144,000 kids and their families took part in the program walking the equivalent of two

return trips to the moon and with your families help, we can make 2017 our biggest year yet! There are so many great reasons

to participate in Walk to School this October and we’re excited to be part of the fun because getting active is even more fun

when we do it together!

Hi Families,

Wow Term 3 gone already!! It has been a great term with lots of events organised from Hot

Chocolate Day, Father’s Day Breakfast, Trivia Night & ending with the Footy Day Lunch this week.

Thank you to all who could help out to make these events possible and also to those who came

along and enjoyed the kid’s and parent’s activities. It is lovely to come together as a community

and also raise funds for the school at the same time. We also saw some of the fundraising and

ideas come to fruition with the opening of the new Bike Shed and the new playground.

Next term will be exciting with the Carnivale and also greeting new families that will be starting

next year.

Have a great holiday and see you all in Term 4.
