who?“The most refreshing and honest sound we’ve heard in years” (UberRock Magazine, UK), The Bar Stool Preachers are taking the UK punk and ska music scenes by storm. Brighton’s ska-infused, streetpunk inspired five piece are that rare thing - a band whose songs can stay in your head after just one listen and have you smiling throughout. Small wonder then, that since they formed in the summer of 2014 they have been attracting acclaim both for their optimistic, melodic songs as well as their incredibly energetic, powerful live shows.

Their debut album - Blatant Propaganda – was received to incredible critical acclaim (see reviews), and sold out 6 times globally (across 4 continents), and copies continually fly off the shelves. Stocked across all platforms, from Amazon to indie record shops, many fans and retailers await album #2 – in the pipeline for next year - with baited breath. From what the band has played so far, they will not be disappointed.

The Bar Stool Preachers are already making some serious waves in the UK, taking the ska and punk scenes

by storm!

live shows

The Bar Stool Preachers have “just about everything we should all be looking for in our music. It’s edgy, new and above all, whilst paying homage to those before them, it’s different…” They are the perfect antidote for all the run of the mill, industry standard apathy we see in modern music. Whether Preaching to the masses on the streets, effortlessly captivating a sold out 15,000 capacity Olympiahalle in Innsbruck, headlining their own sold out shows or supporting bigger bands on their extensive tours, this a band you know you can rely on for a gig full of energy, enthusiasm and a collection of just straight up good music. Described by British music magazine “Vive Le Rock” as having “all the energy of The Specials in their heyday”, this is a fair summary of a band who embrace the original 2-tone sound, whilst adding a fresh modern twist, and throwing in some reggae, dub and hardcore for good measure. Witty observational lyrics and a heavy dose of perfectly honoured punk influences such as The Clash, Rancid, and Cock Sparrer, mean you are guaranteed a good night when the Preachers play. It’s this crafted, genuine sound, that makes The Bar Stool Preachers feel like such a breath of fresh air.

The whole band are impressive; with a knack for making music which is absolutely not easy to play look absolutely effortless; the mark of good musicians, and they pull together incredibly well, with a great energy and chemistry between them. On a more superficial level, there’s something refreshing about seeing a band who look like a gang; an increasing rarity, with their Sailor Jerry inspired aesthetic. Everything about them hints that they are set for big things; particularly the instant nature of their attention-grabbingly melodic songs.” Louder Than War

The hooks are catchy but the lyrics are full of intelligent, politically driven content making

them a best of both worlds force.

When it comes to The Bar Stool Preachers, what really sets them apart from the run of the mill bands trying to break through (apart from the music), is the way in which they never hide their motives. They are a band that wants social justice, a band that for whom things need to change. Along with their thought provoking and positivity spreading lyrics, there is an angry undertone, which when seen live, seems they might just get what they want… Not afraid to put their money where their mouths are, The Bar Stool Preachers are also regularly involved in positive action events and charity work. So whether it’s sending their t-shirts to refugees suffering in Europe, or volunteering their time for local events (e.g. at soup kitchen’s or playing Crisis’ ‘Musicians Against Homelessness’), the Bar Stool Preachers are the real deal, and their fans know it.

It’s around now that you’re realizing it’s been a while since you heard some music like that. You’ll realize that you’ve heard lots of stuff which has walked stiffly behind the punk banner, but they don’t really know what’s what... Few of those on the march have ever walked on the wrong side of the street – let alone done it so often that they know every crack in the cement from memory. The Bar Stool Preachers know though and, unlike so many of those other bands, they’ve refused to let it break them. On their debut 7” single, the band makes a lean sound which refuses to stay down, won’t be counted out and will prove it to you if you don’t believe it. This is real, and you’ll know it when you hear it, reader.” Hellbound (CA)

Easily one of the best new bands, around right now. Ones not just to watch for the future, but to pay attention to right now.

“One listen to any of their tracks is enough to hook you in and if you see the band live, chances are, you’ll leave a fan for life. They are humble, likeable and above all, very good musicians.”

Don’t just take our word for it, check out the links and get in touch to book the band asap!

Blatant Propaganda has just about everything we should all be looking for in our music. It’s edgy, new and above all different. This is the perfect soundtrack to your next party, preferably on a Saturday, after waking up, devouring a Full English, putting on some classic ska or punk to fully wake you up, catching a game of football, and arriving back home with all your best mates after a few beers - preferably not Belgium, or you will remember little or nothing of the night to come.” UberRock Magazine

Really, even those who were won by Bar Stool Preachers’ previous releases likely could not have seen Blatant Propaganda coming – the album only shifts gears slightly from its’ creators’ previous work, but it still seems to tower over everything which preceded it.” Classic Rock

GET INTOUCH

I get a solid sense of positivity out of this band’s sound. They don’t come across as pissed or whiney, but friendly and real… the more I listen, the more I get drawn into the upbeat, hook-heavy sound.” Upstarter (US)
