Goal: To provide user with basic understanding of WordPress and help him or her get started using the system.

Objective: To provide user with knowledge of WordPress that will enable him or her to design a basic webpage.Slide 2 Provides Goal and Objective

ACE model Analyze, create, and evaluate. I started with the goal and objective. I then created the visual graphics in the storyboard outline. The project was evaluated for effectiveness, efficiency, and appeal.PAT Principles, Actions, and ToolsPrinciples - Selection, Organization, and Integration. I tried to select images that would reinforce the steps. The text explaining each step was listed on the left in a column, while the image was placed in a column on the right or following. Using real world images creates a better sense of realism and integration.Actions Contrast, Alignment, Repetition, and Proximity. I used contrast between the light colored font and darker background. The text was left aligned in all slides and columns. The titles were also left aligned. I tried to use the grid when designing to make sure everything lined up. The logo was used as a design element on nearly every slide to show repetition. The titles were the same size font and used a continuation theme for multiple slides. The images were placed in close proximity to the text that referenced the graphics.Tools Type, Shape, Color, Depth, Space. I used larger type for the headings to draw the eye in. I used arrows for shape to create emphasis. I also used arrows for navigational purposes.I used a dark background and light colored font. The dark gray background promotes a sense of elegance and had a small splash of yellow to warm it up. I tried to use the yellow sparingly since it can be jarring to the eyes if overused. By creating thick arrows and using WordArt for the home button, I created a sense of depth. White space (which in my case is gray) was used to help provide contrast. The background does have a slight gradient effect that helps show contrast for the font color.Figure/Ground - I used screenshots as images to reinforce the lesson. It would have been difficult to conduct a lesson without images since the student is learning to build a webpage.Hierarchy Principles Headings are at the top. The text is left aligned. On the slides with two columns, you still read from left to right. Since images are so important in this lesson, I used a two column format to show that they were equally important. Each lesson is numbered and builds on the other. In order to have a complete webpage, you have to include all elements (also gestalt!).Typography I used a different size font for the headings and body text to promote hierarchy. The text is left aligned to make it easier to read. I also tried to not use too many lines of text on each slide. In Lesson 4, I explain to the student what types of font are best used for webpage design (Georgia, Trebuchet, and Verdana).Gestalt perceptions - Learners should be able to create a basic webpage. Each lesson builds on the preceding lesson. In order to have a well-designed page, you have to include all the elements.Multimedia components - I created navigation buttons to make it easier on the audience. There is actually an audio file included in the audio section.
