them to their owners. PLEASE put names on these type of

items as well as clothing so we can find owners!!!

UNIFORMS

Winter is here and students need to be more mindful of the uniform that they wear. At this time of year students should be wearing long navy trousers/tracksuit pants and girls should also be wearing clothing that covers the legs, navy leggings or tights Short netball skirts are NOT school uniform. Students also need to bring a school windcheater/jacket. A raincoat/spray jacket is also handy for days when it is raining or partic-ularly cold. Bass Valley Primary School Council is committed to the wear-ing of school uniform by all its students. We believe that a uniform dress code encourages students to take pride in their own appearance, instils a recognition of themselves as an inte-gral part of the school community and assists in developing pride in representing Bass Valley Primary School.

ACCELERATED LEARNING PROGRAM—

W.S.C. Wonthaggi Secondary College offers a SEAL (Select Entry Accelerated Learning) program beginning in Year 7, to cater for bright and highly motivated students. The program involves accelerated learning in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Japanese throughout years 7-9. In this way we hope to provide gifted students with a challenging and satisfying learning experience. If you are a parent of a grade six student and think your child would benefit from such a program, you can nominate your child to sit the placement test. Nomination forms are available at your primary school’s office. If you would like to know more about the program please contact either Heather Sullivan (SEAL Coordinator) or Ross Bramley (Campus Princi-pal) at Wonthaggi Secondary College Dudley Campus
