Batching System at BendixFMP Group (Australia) Pty Ltd in Ballarat

Bulk powders are vacuum transferred via a Bulk Bag Discharger into fourteen storage silos.

Fibrous products are dumped into300 litre Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC’s) then automatically transferredto the mezzanine floor for loading of the Fibre storage silos.

Heavy fibrous products like steel & copper filings are loaded into custommade stainless steel IBC’s and loaded into five agitated bunkers which consist of a vertical mixer with special ribbon design to keep the product movingto prevent binding. Since designing this agitated surge bin Lynchborough-GPM hasimplemented this into other systems for Cadbury & Mars on difficult products.

Product is then weighed out ofthe silos into a tub located on a travelling weigh trolley. The trolleythen returns home to await pickupby the robot to then dump eachproduct into one of three agitatedbatch bins.

Once entire recipe has been placed into the batch bins the mix is then vacuum transferred to the mixing building into any one of six mixer loading units.

Once entire mix has arrived at the mixerloading unit hand add products can be tipped into the unit via the sack tip door on each mixer
