Thursday, 14th September 2017 Term 3 Week 9
Dear Parents,
Congratulations to Jacob Lamb who has been selected in the Western Region Cricket Team to play at
the NSW PSSA Cricket Carnival next term in Orange. We are all very proud of you Jacob.
On Thursday 7th September, our Dance Troupes performed at the Bathurst Eisteddfod. Our Stage 3
were awarded with a Highly Commended, our Stage 2 awarded with a Highly Commended, our Stage
1 awarded with a 2nd Place and our Boys Hip Hop awarded with a Highly Commended and also
awarded 'Most Entertaining Group' by the adjudicator for the section. Congratulations on your
wonderful performances. Thank you to Mrs McClements and Miss Glasson for all the work preparing
the children and to the many parents for their support of the Dance Programs.
Congratulations to our band students who performed at the Bathurst Eisteddfod on Monday. You all
played extremely well and represented our school with pride. Well done everyone.
Congratulations to our Support Unit children who performed today at the Bathurst Eisteddfod. You all
performed extremely well and received a merit medal. The adjudicator loved your costumes, your
routine, the way you jived on stage and thought Fonzie was ‘real cool’. Well done everyone.
On Tuesday, our Choral children travelled to Sydney with Mrs Cafe and Mrs Datt to perform at the
Choral Festival at the Opera House. The children sang as part of a 700 strong choir made up of
students from across NSW, accompanied by an orchestra, show band or pianist. The children were
magnificent. Well done to all involved and a special thank you to Mrs Cafe and Mrs Datt for their
work with the children.
Another highlight of the Choral Festival was watching one of our past Bathurst Public choir students
perform in the State Choir. You were amazing Finella McBurney and we are very proud.
FOOD Allergies - We do have several children at our school who have peanut allergies and
have severe reactions if exposed to this food. Parents are asked to be mindful of this when packing
recess and lunch and are encouraged not to send products, which contain nuts in them to school.
A general reminder:-
All items of clothing and personal belongings should be clearly marked with your child’s name.
All children require a broad brimmed hat each day as our school has a “No Hat, No Play” policy.
When parents and friends come to the school during the day, they should present to the front office
on arrival. This is a Legal and Workplace Safety requirement and is followed for the
safety and security of all children and teachers.
We continue to encourage parents to make appointments to come and talk about your child’s
progress, problems that may arise, ideas etc. It is reminded that the education of your child is a team
effort with teachers and parents being the main stakeholders. With this in mind, it is an important
reminder that the parent/teacher relationship always needs to be cohesive and
supportive and one of mutual respect. I am sure we will continue to work with one another in a
positive manner.
All money coming to the school should be placed in a sealed envelope with your child’s name,
correct amount of money, class and what the money is for clearly written on the front. All money
and notes should be sent directly to the front office at the school for processing.
Our School Newsletter is uploaded every Thursday so all parents receive information at the same time.
