These solutions include a Color i5 Benchtop Spectrophotometer, an SP64 Por-table Sphere Spectrophotometer, and a CA22 45°/0° Tethered Spectrophotometer. The company also uses X-Rite’s ColorDesigner® PLUS, and X-Rite’s CAPSURE handheld color-matching tool.

X-Rite Pantone Solutions—Empowering Color

To keep their commitment to color, quality and customer satisfaction, BBC Paints has relied on a range of X-Rite Pantone solutions.

They recently traded their X-Rite Benchtop 8000 series for a Color i5 2-Color Master. The Color i5 Benchtop Spectrophotometer is a flexible instrument that gives BBC Paints accurate, high-volume production measurements on a wide variety of samples sizes, shapes, textures, and opacity levels.

In addition to the Color i5 2-Color Master, BBC also uses the SP64 Portable Sphere Spectrophotometer. This device can provide precise color measurement information on a wide range of materials, including paper, paint, plastics, and textiles. BBC Paints uses the SP64 Portable Sphere Spectrophotometer as a backup device at their project sites. The device, as BBC notes, “Is user friendly and gives good and quick color quality checks.”

To link their branches with the color matching software, BBC Paints employs CA22 45°/0° Tethered Spectrophotometer.

In 1995, BBC Paints began in Saudi Arabia as Paints, Solvent, and Industrial Putty Company, Ltd. The company quickly expanded, and in 1999 established a new factory to meet the growing demand for their products and services, especially paints.

Today, the company has expanded to include four regional offices and 120 point of sale locations around the Kingdom. They also service a growing list of countries, with branches in Egypt, Bahrain, Iraq, Yemen and Syria.

Connecting Customers to Color

Part of the Company’s growth has come from the expansion of their retail locations, kiosks, and online stores. To give customers at these locations the same level of color quality and consistency, BBC Paints again turns to X-Rite solutions.

To start, the Company uses X-Rite’s ColorDesigner® PLUS, a customer -friendly color matching software package that expedites and refines the paint selection process. Customers use ColorDesigner PLUS to select their paints. BBC Paints can then mix that customer’s color in the exact paint product they want—eliminating wasted effort and formulation errors.

BBC Paints also employs X-Rite’s CAPSURE handheld color-matching tool. This device gives BBC Paints a tool for finding an exact match for any sample. The CAPSURE can accurately measure the color on smooth, textured, or patterned sample—literally any inspirational object the customer may have.X-Rite’s I1 technology is also used to ensure color displays accurately on each and every monitor or LCD terminal used by BBC Paints.

Colors Guidance from the Color Experts

BBC also makes use of Pantone products, including the Personal Designer on the Web. This service is used to help clients including interior designers, graphic designers, project managers, and by customers taking on “do-it-yourself” projects find and identify colors. In addition, new technology starting to be used by BBC Paints is the Pantone Fashion and Home Color Locators.
