EVERGREEN CHARGING STATIONS IS AN OPEN AND USER-FRIENDLY SYSTEM THAT IS INTEGRATED IN THE USUAL PARKING SITUATIONS. ALONG WITH FLEXIBLE PAYMENT METHODS THIS GIVES THE USER A GREAT DEGREE OF INDEPENDENCE AND SAFETY – WHICH WILL HELP PROMOTE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF E-VEHICLES.

The build-in intelligence ensures that the charging stations automatically starts charging when the price is lowest or when the CO2-emissions are lowest. In other words: both the user and the environment will benefit from the system.

EVergreen helps to even out the load on the grid, as the sys-tem will automatically begin charging at times when demand is less and/or the share of sustainable energy is greatest. EVergreen’s intelligent system will lead towards the future’s sustainable electricity system, the so-called SmartGrid, and a future free from fossil fuels.

FLEXIBILITYEVergreen charging stations is a flexible system that meets the common parking situations. Thus the user can park in places he or she naturally comes during the day: at home, at work, at the station, when shopping, etc. The needs are covered by the models for public and semi-public charging as well as home charging.

The charging station is constructed of modules, and features can be added as needed (see more about the functions on p. 10). Charging stations are available with up to four sockets that go from simple 1-phase sockets to sockets with full communication – the so-called type 2 (mode 3) socket.

METHODS OF PAYMENTWith free access there is a need for flexible payment methods. At the EVergreen charging station it is possible to pay by credit card, loyalty card or SMS.

The charging stations are developed in parallel with Energinet.dk’s datahub, which in the future will allow users to pay on their own electric bill – no matter where the electric car has been charged.

GREEN ACCOUNTINGEVergreen is controlled by factors such as hourly based rates and CO2-emission. Those data are used for making green account-ing. Documentation can be drawn from the system in the form of graphs and reports.

Like all Vikingegaarden’s solutions, EVergreen is also web-based with access from any PC, PDA or mobile phone with internet access.

CHARGING PROFILESThe system has a web-based solution where users can define their own, individual charging profiles. These are useful when the user has a uniform charging pattern, for instance at home, by the station and at work. Charging profiles can be set for single persons, for groups or for a vehicle.

Once the profiles have been defined, the system will automatically initiate a charge at the time where electricity is most environmentally friendly or most economical – and natu-rally the vehicle is charged in time to take off.

USER-FRIENDLINESSEVergreen is easy and logical to use. The charging stations have a user-friendly interface that shows the user the price and the environmental impact of each hour. Based on this information the user can choose hours for charging. Alternatively, the user may choose instant charging.

TIPCHARGE – SMARTPHONE APPTipCharge is a smartphone application where the user can find the nearest charging station, get the distance there and get a route description.

The application can be downloaded from January 2012 on the Android Market or from www.tipcharge.com.

Thisted Municipality is one of Denmark’s leading climate municipalities and as such they have chosen EVergreen to support their green goals.

EVERGREEN HOMEEVergreen Home is a model for charging at home as well as for workplaces where electricity should be availbale for customers and employees. The Home model supports use of charge profiles (see p. 6) and comes with one or two sockets. The Home model can be wall-mounted or mounted at legs.

EVERGREEN CARPARKAs part of the EVergreen project a parking place integration will be developed. This allows the user to pay his parking ticket and charging in one go. At the same time the car park owner or operator will have access to a management system. This solution is done in collaboration with Skidata through Swarco.

EVERGREEN PROEVergreen Pro is the most advanced model with a big touch screen and an option for credit card payment and SMS payment. The model is suitable for all types of parking and comes with up to four sockets. Another option is to have a system with one opera-tion stand controlling from one to many smaller charging stations situated at the parking bays.

EVERGREEN STANDARDEVergreen Standard is a smaller version of the Pro model. Standard has a smaller touch screen and comes with one or two sockets. Standard is suitable for smaller parking places and workplaces. SMS payment is an option.

PRIVATE LABELSEVergreen charging stations can be tailor-made both in terms of functionality and appearance. A company or a municipality who wants the charging station under own brand may have the identity, colour and logo they want.

No matter the branding, all the functions will be exactly the same as in all EVergreen charging stations, such as intelligent charging and integration with SmartGrid.

STANDARDS AND APPROVALSEVergreen charging stations comply with the applicable standards for electrical equipment and charging stations in public spaces. EVergreen has density in class IP64 and is CE marked.
