Step Up to ServeHabitat Quick Fact: Every Habitat Family saves up $2,000 in closing costs and volunteers over 400 hours of “sweat equity” just to qualify for the Habitat program. Each Habitat Fam-ily also attends budget classes, home maintenance classes, and is well-prepared for home ownership. Habitat Families are rarely homeless and never impoverished. The program seeks to serve families with stable jobs and income, who want to be homeowners, but fall just short of qualifying for a conventional mortgage.
Prayers for Our Habitat BuildPlease pray for the O’Neal Family, our BUMC volunteers who will begin construction next weekend, and our congregation that we will rise up to meet the fundraising goal with extravagant generosity. Check www.bumc.net/habitat & BUMC Facebook for updates.
Habitat Food Helpers NeededCan’t build but would like to help? Morning snacks and lunch are needed. Contact Josie McCamish ([email protected]).
