BUMC Local Impact Reading With a Child this Summer! My experience last summer reading to one of the children during the Project Transformation summer program at 61st UMC, provided joy beyond measure... and a

lesson that can only come from a child’s view. When choosing where we should sit, she pointed to a pair of large chairs in the sanctuary...she instructed me to sit in one, announced she would sit in the other, and then pointed to a small chair next to both

and said, “That chair is for Jesus”! Starting June 7, 61st UMC will again be partnering with Project Transformation TN

by engaging many college interns from around the country, including our own Casey Enright, in purposeful leadership ministry to over 70 underserved children and

families in the Nations Neighborhood for the duration of 8 summer weeks. Please sign up to volunteer with our church in the following ways:

• Needed: 12 reading volunteers July 21-24 during (9:15am -12:15pm) • Needed: 15-20 volunteers to provide dinner for approx. 100 on July 24 for their

Family Fun Night

To volunteer as an individual/family, class or small group, please contact Jackie Shields at [email protected] or Missions and outreach [email protected] or 615-324 -7222.

16 years and 16 houses with and for our neighbors This weekend we made the final touches on our 2014 Habitat for Humanity House. Next Saturday, June 7, we will be dedicating Misty and Jayden’s house. What a journey! Thank you BUMC for making it possible! A special thanks to Bill Paris, Hank Hymel, Grayling Putt, Debbie Deaver and all of our building, meals and snacks volun-teers. If you still wish to give, we are $3,000 short of reaching our goal of $70,000.
