It is a primary school, which was established in 1971.

This local primary school had a quite long history and teaching traditions in Carmona.

The school had a lot of reforms (in areas of education, equipment) in since 1971 till now. That’s why today C.E.Pr. Beato Juan Grande have a good environment and conditions for teaching and learning.

Nowadays…

There students study since 1st till 6th grades.

The lessons start on 9 o’clock till 14 o’clock.

The school year - since 1st September till the end of June.

The school has 16 different classes:

1st grade – 3 classes;

2th grade – 3 classes;

3th grade – 3 classes;

4th grade – 2 classes;

5th grade – 3 classes; 6th grade – 2 classes. Nowadays the school has

approximately 400 students.

The school staff

There work 22 teachers, who are professionals and qualified in their fields.

This school year (2013-2014) school also has 2 assistants (1 assistant - from USA; 1 assistant from Lithuania).

The other supporting and auxiliary staff take in 24 persons.

Modern technologies in school

The school has one computer classroom.

Also, in 2009-2010 this educational institution incorporated the digital whiteboards into all classrooms.

It helps to integrate new technologies in the lessons and creative interactive environment in school.

Projects

C.E.Pr. Beato Juan Grande is active member in different types of projects. For example: Comenius projects with the other schools from the EU; Comenius assistant in the school; eTwinning and so on.

Eurokid discovering Europe with time (2011-13).

Comenius assistants in school

Comenius assistents in C.E.Pr. Beato Juan Grande: Valentina (Italy, 2011-2012); Laura (Rumania, 2012-2013); Giedrė (Lithuania, 2013-2014). Comenius Assistants work 12-16 hours per week. They

should:1) teach the English and mother language;2) represent your country and culture;3) develop European dimension in lessons;4) help to work Comenius projects.

Traditions and celebrations in school

The school has a traditions to celebrate the most important celebrations and events, for example: Christmas, Day of the book, Day of Andalusia, organize a carnavals...

Every school year students visit the local museums and travel to the other cities (Cordoba, Madrid and so on).
