Judique is a small community located in Inverness County on the Ceilidh Trail (Trunk 19) on the western side of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. There is no shortage of beauty in this fabulous area. The surrounding scenery is simply spectacular. The Ceilidh Trail offers breathtaking, unspoiled beaches that are popular with tourists and locals alike throughout the year. Known for its warm, shallow waters, Port Hood beach is just 15 minutes away from Judique and encompasses 5 beaches - Lawerence’s Beach, The Boardwalk Beach, Wharf Beach, Lifeguard Beach and Murphy’s Pond Beach. Lifeguard Beach is the only supervised beach (as the name would suggest). It’s a safe beach for swimming, well protected by land and is separated from Wharf Beach by a breakwater. Amenities at this beach include: showers, a canteen and washrooms. On Boardwalk Beach at low tide you can take a stroll on its sand bars or dig for clams. It’s also a great spot for kite flying. One of the most natural and beautiful wonders of the world comes almost nightly to the summers in Port Hood, the sunsets will make you stop in your steps and truly appreciate your surroundings.Further along the Ceilidh Trail are the equally beautiful Mabou Beach, and Inverness Beaches.

With its Celtic connections and friendly people, there is no shortage of local events to enjoy through the year. One of the biggest festivals is Celtic Colours International Festival. Celtic Colours is an experience like no other. For nine days in October, Cape Breton Island is alive with music, energy and excitement as people come from far and wide to celebrate the rich culture. From concerts to dances and workshops to community suppers, the festival offers a range of events against a gorgeous backdrop of Autumn colours.
