    Beef- A Long History

    Theearliestintroductionofbeefcattletothecountrywasinthe1500sviaMexico. ThesecattlecamenorthtowhatisnowthesouthernUnitedStates,andsome

    oftheirrelativesarestillaroundtoday!Beefweredomesticatedaround8,000yearsago.Butthatwasalongtimebeforethey

    madeittotheUnitedstates.ThefirstcattleintotheUSwerefromMexicointhe1500s.

    Theycameintothesouthernpartofthecountry.ThefirstestablishedheardwasinVirginia
