PUBLIC SPEAKING

Year 1 Winner, Dexter Van Mill

Speech - Karate

It was a pleasure to listen to the

wonderful students in Stage 1

who participated in the public

speaking on Tuesday. Some

interesting, well presented

speeches were delivered. Thank

you to Mrs Johnson for

organising the event this year.

Congratulations to our

Year 1 and Year 2

Public Speaking Champions,

Dexter Van Mill (1/2K) and

Charlotte Wilkins (2/3R).

Year 2 Winner, Charlotte Wilkins

Speech – My Cat “Mars”

CROSS COUNTRY Good luck to our students who are competing in the Lower North Coast Cross Country carnival in Kempsey

today. Many of our competitors have participated regularly in Kilometre Club.

DANCE FESTIVAL The dance festival is back! Our dance groups will perform at the Glasshouse next Wednesday evening with

the combined Year 5/Year 6 group also performing on Thursday night. Congratulations to our dancers for

their commitment and practise leading up to the event. Break a leg, girls & boys!

Kinder Bus Safety Program Yesterday, Kindergarten students participated in a Bus Safety Program. This included a presentation and,

most excitingly, a short bus trip around the school zone. For some of the children, it was the first time on a bus! Bus safety is an essential part of Road Safety and discussing with the student’s safe ways of travelling to and from school.

Shoe Lacing Lessons

Ascent Footwear, in partnership with The Athlete's Foot, visited us on Wednesday, 19th May, to educate the students

from Years 1 & 2. This fun, interactive workshop was used to help teach the students the important life skill of how

to tie their shoelaces correctly!

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Uniform Shop Open ...

Jumpers ... With the sudden cooler mornings, we have noticed several students arriving at school in non-

uniform jumpers. Please note only school jumpers & jackets are to be worn at school. PSSA jumpers are

not school uniform.

New uniform items can be purchased through the Flexischools app. Once you have completed your online

order, your order will be processed the next time the shop is open. The orders are brought to the office and

we will deliver those uniform purchases to your child. Unfortunately, only new stock is available through

flexischools. If you wish to purchase preloved, please visit the uniform shop. Our uniform shop often has

good quality second-hand uniforms available. Eftpos

facilities are also available

Girl’s Socks … At Wednesday night’s P&C meeting it

was agreed to add grey socks as an option to the

girl’s uniform. These are already in stock and

available for purchase at the uniform shop.

Dress Code … The policy was formulated by the

parent body. Sleeper earrings, (stud-gun) studs, a

watch and/or a plain signet ring are the only

jewellery that should be worn.

Students will be asked to remove jewellery (that

does not fall within policy guidelines), make-up

and/or nail polish.

THANK YOU A very big thank-you to our P&C Association who recently

purchased two Fountas Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Kits

for Stage 3 (Year 5 & Year 6). These kits, valued at over $500

each, are an essential resource for assessing reading and

comprehension levels.

Pictured are Mrs Leonie Mann, P&C Secretary, handing over

the kits to Stage 3 students, Tyler Lewis & Sarah Morton.
