Qualities of a Conservation Officer

• Interested in serving my community and a person who seeks out challenge

• Considerable initiative and work well under minimal supervision

• Can work with all kinds of people in a variety of situations

• Comfortable working alone as well as in a team environment

Minimum Qualifications

• A technical diploma in criminal justice or environmental management

• three years experience in a compliance and enforcement or regulatory environment that required the completion of investigations and resulted in the imposition of penalties or sanctions.

Special Requirements

• Must be 19 years of age

• Have a class 5 license

• Completion of Canadian firearms safety course

• CORE Hunter Safety

• First Aid level 1

• Cardiovascular

• Respiratory

• Endocrine

• Psychiatric

Wages

• Recruit CO Salary at WCLEA: $48,942.48 - $50,371.

• Recruit CO Salary during Field Training: $53,906.49 - $61,496.39

• Fully Implemented Field CO Salary: $58,915.64 - $67,319.53
