Explanation of your

Individual BELBIN® GetSet Reports

Self-Perception Team Role ProfileUsing your responses from the Self-Perception questionnaire, your Team Role report explores which TeamRoles you do and don’t enjoy playing. Each role is shown as a percentile. The higher your percentile score, the more you display this role in comparison to other people who have answered the questionnaire.

Your preferred roles are those you will be most comfortable playing. Manageable roles are those which youare capable of doing and which may be cultivated and improved. Least preferred roles are those which youmay struggle with and should perhaps avoid. Some may find that their preferences are clearly defined, whereas others will have a large number of manageable roles. In either case, the important point is todiscover how you can best contribute to the team.

Pie Charts of SPI versus Observer Data (Only generated with 4 or more Observers)

This report gives a visual representation of the similarities and differences between your views and those ofyour observers, with your views on the left and those of your observers on the right. Each Team Role isshown as a percentage of your total Team Role profile.

Assessment Results in Rank Order (only generated with 1 or more Observers)

The Observer Assessment consists of a series of adjectives which can be ticked in relation to someone. This report accumulates the ticks your observers allocated and orders them from most to least ticked. Thewords at the top of the list are the characteristics that others see most in you. It is usual to have no marksfor some words.

Character Profile for sadaat sethi

Please note that this report is based on Self-Perception details only

What is distinctive about my profile?

Your ability to work with a wide range of people is one of your main characteristics. You are open andready to listen, but you are also observant and so know when it is appropriate to approach others.

What is my personal contribution?

You are likely to contribute most where interpersonal relationships play a very prominent part. Hereyou can make your mark by being able to deal effectively with a wide range of people, including somedifficult characters. Because you see the importance of compromise, you will often become the linkbetween people, sorting out their conflicts. Your profile is likely to be of greatest value in a busy office,or similar environment, where there is plenty of opportunity to work with people inside and outside ofthe company. Here your communication skills will be put to good use.

It is worth noting that you should avoid work where you are for the most part left on your own, aswithout the stimulation of others you can quickly lose interest. Were you to be placed in that positionthough, there is every likelihood that you would change the job content to give it a more socialcharacter. While this can sometimes work well, there is a risk that it could bring about personal strain, especially if the job was closely specified and structured.

For you to be able to use your strengths, it is crucial to project a clear image to those around you. Then people will be aware of the contribution that you can make. So try to build up your reputation fortact and diplomacy. In time people will come to rely on you to sort out any conflicts. Also, it may wellbe worth forming a close link with someone who is clever and successful, though perhaps shy andunpredictable, and so might lack the ability or inclination to communicate effectively with others. Thiscould provide you with the ideal opportunity to display your natural accomplishments.

How should I present myself at interviews?

When the time come to enter the workplace, you will need to project a positive image of yourself atinterviews. So try to find concrete examples from your life that demonstrate your 'people skills'. Talkabout the time you built up better communication between a group of people - how did you succeed?Try and avoid vague phrases such as 'I like working with people'. Replace them instead with phraseslike 'I have worked with people from a variety of different backgrounds and always enjoyed it', and goon to give an example, talking about what you have learnt and how you have developed yourapproach. If others are to recognise your interpersonal skills, you need to show real evidence of it ininterview situations. Aim to ask a range of well-judged questions. Take an interest in everything that isgoing on.

How should I make the best out of my profile?

The remarks above may give some idea of how you can use your strengths to advantage. But bear inmind that the desired opportunities will not always be there. Sometimes you will have to bide yourtime, take on another role, and sacrifice your natural behaviour. You should learn to do this in adisciplined way until the right openings occur. It is part of life that, for a while, all may not go in thedirection you would wish. So consider the advantages of working with someone who is good in areaswhere you are weak. Such co-operation will leave intact your sense of personal identity, while allowingyou to develop your interpersonal skills.

In your particular case, there is one area where you may need some help or support. Your need forpersonal involvement means that you are unsuited to the regular analysis of facts and figures, tomonitoring progress and offering advice to others objectively. If you work closely with someone who is

good at looking at all possibilities fairly and squarely, you are likely to gain in personal effectiveness.
