1. With out using your notes…write out the 5 levels of environmental organization in order starting from the smallest.

2. Create a food chain using the following: duck, minnow, algae, dog, sun

• SPI 0607.2.3- Identify the biotic and abiotic elements of the major biomes

Mutualism

• Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship where both organisms benefit.

Examples:Human intestine and bacteria

Algae and coral

Commensalism

• Commensalism is the symbiotic relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is unaffected.

• Example:Shark and Remoras

Parasitism

• Parasitism is the symbiotic relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is harmed.

• Example:Tick- outsideTapeworm- inside ahumanWasp and Caterpillar

Why do most parasites not kill their host?• Without the host the parasite

would die.
