Year 1 Home Learning Week beginning: 18th January 2021 Hello Year One, I hope that you are all well and that you have enjoyed your week. I know that some of you have been busy completing some of the remote learning activities during the week. It has been wonderful to see such a variety of lovely pieces of work. Please continue to submit any activities via email to [email protected]. I am looking forward to seeing some more of your activities this week. If you have any problems accessing any of the activities and resources, please let me know and then I can find a solution. It is important that children are completing remote learning where they can, to maintain progress. Just a reminder that our previous weekly overviews of activities from the new term can be found here: Year 1 Remote Learning Activities This week we will continue with our theme of Space. We will also be focusing on developing our handwriting both of letters and numbers. Castle View have invested in a new phonics programme which we will be introducing shortly. This scheme has a printed font so we will be practising this letter formation in the forthcoming weeks in preparation for our return to school. This week we sent home six reading certificates to children who had accessed their reading on Bug Club. Well done! Can we improve on that number and reach double figures this week? If you would like to speak to me about anything to do with your child’s education or well-being, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the class email. For any urgent matters please contact the school office. Thank you for your support with your child’s home learning activities during these unusual circumstances. Don’t forget to photograph your learning and share it with me! [email protected] Stay safe everyone – Miss Liver and Mrs Gorry
