4WD Tracks This weekend we have mountain bikes, 4WDs and bushwalkers using the tracks. Please consider others as you drive. Please keep in mind of the one way tracks which are shown on your maps;

Billy Goat Track (up only) Ridge Top (down only)

Bookings are essential for the Hungry Range, so vehicles leave at intervals of half an hour. This allows groups to travel at their own pace.

New Faces We have a few new faces around the place, Charlie and Kylie have returned home to the farm with their two boys, Will and Ollie, and are expecting a baby in September. We have an au-pair from England staying with us until August, Alana. You will see her running around with the boys or down the creek! If you see them around, don’t be afraid to say g’day!

Penna Lane Wines We are trying out a new line of wine this year. Penna Lane Winery is located in the Clare Valley and produces amazing, award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Semillon wines. We would love to hear your feedback if you purchase a bottle of Penna Lane Wines from Reception.

Recycling There is a rubbish trailer, and a bottle and can recycling area near the camp showers, behind the shearing shed. Please make use of these facilities on your way to the showers, or on your way out. We appreciate it if you sort your bottles

and cans in the areas indicated.

Shop Supplies We have ice, frozen bread and long life milk available if you are in danger of running out—just ask at the Office.

We also have a great selection of Dew’s kangaroo meat (including a fabulous mettwurst), local wines and Bendle-Bee Honey for sale.

Bendleby Bill Do you remember Bendleby Bill? Bill will be out hiding in the ranges over the long weekend. If you see him around, pick him up and give him a ride! He loves to sit somewhere where he can be seen! Let someone at the office know where you have put him in case he gets lost!

Souvenirs

We have a collection of fridge magnets, caps, t-shirts, stubby holders, Frisbees, Billy Goat Ridge stickers and Bendleby Ranges stickers for sale at the office. We will soon be bringing some scarves and beanies to the shelves once the new office is in full operation.

Firewood We supply sufficient firewood for heating and cooking purposes. If you need extra firewood, please ask at the office.

New Work Completed Over the past 12 months we have achieved a massive amount of work at Bendleby Ranges. Some things are more visible than others, so here’s a few things that have been going on around the place.

Installed reverse cycle or ducted air-conditioning to all accommodation

Installed a back-up generator near the new office

Upgrade at Crotta Homestead—new outdoor entertaining area, 2 new bathrooms and laundry, closed in sun-room.

Pets at Bendleby We have had to say goodbye to two of our furry friends over the past 6 months at Bendleby. George the red kelpie and Percy the black and white cat will be remembered by many. We have welcomed two new kittens, called Felix (black cat) and Harley (black & white cat) who you may see around the place. We also have 7 chickens who are very friendly and like to know what’s going on around the place! If you see a lamb running around after the kids, his name is Lenny. He was an orphaned lamb and we have raised him since Easter. He loves a scratch and pat on the head. Please drive slow around the office area with the influx of animals and children around!
