4.6 Configuring Compressor and PerformanceMap Plots

You can use the Performance Display Package map plots to displaycompressor maps as well as other types of map plots. Theconfiguration consists of two main operations: Configuring the

maps (the compressor or performance curves), and configuring theCompressor Map plots and Performance Map Plots.

    4.6.1 Map Manager Tool

    1. To configure the maps, start System 1 Display. On the Toolsmenu, click Map Managerfrom the Display menu.

    2. To delete or edit a map, select a map and press theappropriate button. To add a new compressor map, pressthe Add Map button. Enter name, X-Y units, and description

    (optional).

    3. Select the Curve Configurationtab and add the curve datato the XYi Pointspage (or one of the other pages if they fitwith your particular data entry format). In the XYi-Pointspage, each Y column with data must have a name (first row),every X value must have at least one corresponding Y value,

and every Y value must have a corresponding X value. Toadd more rows, right-click in the row label column (firstcolumn) and select Add Row. The grid supports cut, copy, paste and delete for single- and multiple-cell selections. When you are finished entering the map information, clickOK.

    4. In the Map Managerdialog box, click OK to save theinformation.

    Map Plot Configuration

The Compressor Map plot and the Performance Map plot are verysimilar to each other. The example below shows the creation of aCompressor Map plot and notes the differences.

To create a Compressor Map plot group, select the Compressor

Map icon from the tool bar.

    1. Start System 1 Display and create a new Plot Group.

    2. To create a Performance Map plot group, select the

Performance Map icon from the tool bar.

    3. Expand the points in the Instrument Hierarchy. Drag thepoint variables from the Instrument Hierarchy onto the plottree in the Plot Group. The first point variable that you dragonto the plot tree is the X variable, and the second point

variable that you drag onto the plot tree will be the first Yvariable. For the Compressor Map plot, the next variablethat you drag onto the plot tree will be the second Yvariable, while for the Performance Map plot the nextvariable that you drag onto the plot tree will be the second Xvariable. Each Compressor Map plot can have one Xvariable and six Y variables. Each Performance Map plot canhave six X variables and six Y variables.

    8. Use the Curve Configuration dialog to configure the color, shape, and line style for the curve. The System 1 softwarewill display the shape when you view current values and usethe selected line style for the curve when using historical

and transient data. Click OKto accept the curveconfiguration.

    9. Repeat the curve configuration for each curve in the plot.

    4.7 Configuring an EGT plot

You can use the Performance Display Package EGT plots to displayexhaust gas temperature and exhaust gas temperature spreadinformation.

    1. Start System 1 Display and select the EGT icon from thetool bar to create a new EGT plot group.

    2. Expand the points in the Instrument hierarchy or Enterprisehierarchy and drag the temperature point variables fromthe expanded Hierarchy onto the plot tree in the Plot Groupdialog. You can configure the software to plot up to 100temperature variables for each EGT plot. The order of thetemperature values is important. The curve numbers willcorrespond directly to the thermocouple numbers in theplot.
