Dear Friends,

As CEO of the IOOF Seniors Homes, it is with great pride that I ensure the day-to-day operations of the IOOF Seniors Homes are managed in a proficient and professional manner. It is also my responsibility to work with the Board of Directors, management and staff to improve the environments of our various facilities on an ongoing basis thus enhancing the lives of our Residents. The efforts we have made during my tenure over the last 14 years has ensured our Residents, staff, family members and volunteers enjoy a wonderful and pleasant place to live and work making the care we provide meet and exceed provincial standards.

Our priorities are clear; our targets are set for 2016, and we need your help. One of the most significant major capital projects is to complete 3 dining rooms for the “C” part of the Home that due to financial shortfalls, during the Phase I construction of the LTC Home in 2008, left them shelled in but incomplete. Each dining room when completed, at a minimum cost of $700,000, will eliminate hall and elevator travel by our Residents and staff three times a day for meals in our main floor dining room. Waiting at the elevators 3 times a day can be up to 2 hours per day – time better used for programs, resident care, social time and rest.

To our generous and wonderful donors and sponsors, and our potential donors, I thank you. Your continued support is greatly valued and appreciated. Together we can make a difference.

Doreen Saunders, CEO

The Elston Foundation

Once again, the IOOF Homes was the gracious recipient of $11,500, from The Elston Foundation to purchase eight more much needed height and depth adjustable dining room tables for one of the Dining Rooms located in the LTC Home.

We are very grateful for the ongoing, long-time and generous support given to the IOOF Seniors Homes by Sally Elston and The Elston Charitable Foundation.

On June 25th, 2015, The Friendship Love & Truth Charitable Foundation, presented the IOOF Seniors Homes with a cheque in the amount of $10,000 to kick start the redevelopment of the much needed unfinished Dining Rooms in the LTC Home. Each dining room will cost at least $700,000 to complete. Currently Residents must wait at the elevators 3 times per day to be transferred to our main floor dining room. This process can exceed 2 hours per day of Resident, staff and volunteer time. The generosity and commitment of the FLT Foundation and our Residents is greatly appreciated.

PAN AM GAMES PAN AM GAMES PAN AM GAMES PAN AM GAMES

Innisfil was part of the route of the 41-day journey of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay. The torch began its journey when the Pan Am flame was lit during a traditional Aztec lighting ceremony at the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico, before landing in Canada on May 30th, 2015. More than 130 Ontario communities had the honour of hosting the flame during community celebrations. On Thursday, June 11th, 2015, the Pan Am Torch was passed to and carried by Travis Durham, Director of Support Services here at the IOOF Seniors Homes, where he proudly ran representing our communities. The torch relay finished in Toronto on July 10th, 2015, to light the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony.

BINGO VOLUNTEERS WANTEDBINGO VOLUNTEERS WANTEDBINGO VOLUNTEERS WANTEDBINGO VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Are you looking for something to do that doesn’t take a lot of your time? Well, we can help! The IOOF Seniors Homes is part of the community BINGO program and receives about $10,000 annually by volunteering. Being a volunteer requires your help for a two hour shift only four times a year. That’s ONE time every 3 months! The shifts are always 3-5pm on a Sunday and we will provide you with a uniform shirt with logo to identify you as our Volunteer.

Please contact the Revenue Development Office at 705.725.4610 or e-mail [email protected] if you are interested or require additional information.
