The border on this quilt just grabs you! The black in the border sets off the tie dyed blocks so they almost glow.
All the tie dyed fabric used in the border came from the T-shirts used in the quilt.

When you are the daughter of a T-shirt quilt maker, you end up having to make your own graduation quilt.
This quilt was made by Milie Funk in honor of her own graduation. Poor kid!

We wanted to highlight this quilt because of its monochromatic nature. Only purple, black, white and gray T-shirts and jerseys were used in this quilt. The result is an ode to Triway Titans football and baseball.

This quilt has a great border that sets the T-shirts off. But it also has two of the T-shirts that we see in so many graduation quilts. There is the red Piggly Wiggly pig and the green Keep Calm shirt.

This graduation quilt was made for a young man who had diverse interests.
In this quilt you can find a karate uniform, Boy Scout scarf, varsity letter, a sash from his prom court participation, and T-shirts from band, powder puff football, baseball and other activities.

The lime green and teal blue border make this quilt feel happy. The quilt tells the story of a young woman’s varied interests as she was growing up.

And like this quilt, some graduation quilts are small.
The border, made from a pair of lounge pants, adds personality to the quilt.

This quilt highlights a favorite fabric - see the pink oval. This print is repeated throughout the quilt and it was used on the binding. The purple and gray of the border were chosen to match this fabric.

This pieced border was made using 12 different T-shirt materials from the T-shirts in the quilt. As a result the border enhances the look of the quilt.

If you went to a private school that mandated wearing plaid, you can use it in your T-shirt quilt. Pieces of this girl’s uniform skirt were used within the quilt and as part of the border.

The colors of this quilt make it so much fun. The pieced outer border is comprised of solid and tie dyed blocks cut from the T-shirts in the quilt.
