FOREWORD.BY JACKIE NORTON.COURSE DIRECTOR: DESIGN STUDIES PROGRAMME.
We have enjoyed an excellent year with some exciting industry collaborations on live projects for which our graduates have received a number of awards for their professionalism and achievements to date.
Our Interior Design students have been successful in achieving supported entries for various sponsored RSA design briefs from the likes of RBS and Global Design Consultants Dragon Rouge. Following this one of our students received a highly commended recognition for the high standard of work that was submitted. We also picked up 2 runner-up awards for the prestigious Janine Stone Young Interior Designer of the Year Award.
A team of Product Design Students scooped the Best International Design Award from Petainer, a leading European blow moulding manufacturer, competing against University students from Sweden and the Czech Republic. Three other teams also received commended recognition from the company for their entries. Another industry collaboration with Hartman, Outdoor Furniture Manufacturers, resulted in an overall winner, runner up and 3 highly commended awards.
We would like to congratulate all our graduates and wish them all the very best for the future. A huge thank you to all the staff who have helped out our ‘Class of 2012 Graduates’ from workshop technicians, photographers, print support and of course the excellent teaching team.
