Positioned at the mouth of Byng Inlet, in a pristine area of ‘The Bay’, Bigwood is a magnificent 36 acre

private island featuring lush white pine forests, smoothly sloping granite and breathtaking western views

of iconic Georgian Bay landscapes and waterscapes.

Five cottages on the island; the Main Lodge, Log Cabin, Play Cabin, Indian Cabin and Pointe cabin can

comfortably accommodate twenty. Included in the offering is a 7 acre severed lot at the location of Pointe

Cabin.

Dating from 1905, the original structure on the island, is a 1 1/2 storey, 5 bedroom, ~2400sq.ft. Main

Lodge, which overlooks the harbour.

Lovingly restored and tastefully furnished, the lodge exudes all the warmth and charm of a bygone era

while enjoying the comfort of every up to date convenience.

A network of footpaths and rustic wooden bridges link the structures and the trails which traverse the

island, leading to endless spectacular views.

Surrounded almost entirely by crown land the island is just 10 minutes from the local Britt marina. The

channel is wide and deep ensuring safe passage in any weather and a low lying island to the north west

creates a natural, sheltered harbor perfect for float planes and any number of boats & watercraft.

Britt is 20 minutes north of Pointe au Baril via hwy#69, and just 2.5 hours from Toronto. It is less populated

than other areas of the Bay and has direct access to some of the finest boating and fishing in North

America.
