New Board of Directors ...New Board of Directors ... The  new  Board  of  Direc‐tors  consists of  the Execu‐tive Board (see next page), four  Regional  Directors and Assistant Directors  (in the  next  pages),  who  are supported  by  the  Editor and Assistant Editor (in the pages after that!).   

The  goal  of  the  Board  is  to  continue  to  strengthen the  Diva  sisterhood  and build  an  active  member‐ship  throughout  the  coun‐try  and  beyond.    They  aspire to make the Chrome Divas  synonymous  with 

charitable  giving,  commu‐nity support, and of course riding and having fun!

Chrome  Divas  is  truly  ex‐cited  about  the new  direc‐tion  of  our  organization.  We  say  “our” because  it  is just that … every member is a stakeholder of the organi‐zation  and  each  chapter represents  an  extension  of the mission of the organiza‐tion  as  a whole.    It  is  the members  of  this  organiza‐tion that makes it what it is … the best female motorcy‐cle organization of all time!

Welcome to the First Edition of the National Newsletter! Welcome to the First Edition of the National Newsletter! Well,  technically  it  isn’t  the “first” … we had a  few national newsletters “back  in  the day,” but  they kind of  fizzled out.   We’re bringing back  this great  tradition with  the hope of providing articles about different chapter activities that will inspire other chap‐ters with ideas for rides, activities, and events.  We’re looking forward to contributions from your chapters and hope to report on as many as possible.   This is our first shot at this, so please let us know if you have any suggestions for our “new” newsletter!

Contact Us ...

One of the biggest changes to the organization is in the way  in  which  it  is  run.  There  is  now  a  Board  of Directors, made up from its members,  which  includes an  Executive  Board,  Re‐gional  and  Support  Staff.  With this new structure, we will  have  better  resources for the organization and  its members.   

The  Board  has  secured  501(c)(7)  non‐profit  status for  the  group.   Read more about this non‐profit status on the next page!  

They’re  also  working  on  National By‐laws and guide‐lines for chapters.  

Another  change  is  bringing back  the national member‐ship dues. Originally annual national  dues  of  $25/year  were  charged  per member and  then  later  changed  to chapter  dues  only.    The new  $15/year membership dues  will  be  used  to  fund the  new website  and  keep track  of  members.    In  re‐turn, members will  receive more benefits than before!     

We  hope  you’re  excited about  these  changes  too!  The  Board  welcomes  your feedback anytime.

Meet the Executive Board

Kristen Wofford, Executive Director I  started  riding  in 2001.    I had always wanted  to  ride my own motorcycle but never quite found the time or money to purchase one!  After finishing school and starting my career as a court  reporter,  I decided  it was  time.    I  took a safety course and got my  endorsement and my motorcycle all  the same week.    I rode with a small group.   We were 8 married couples and all of us ladies were passengers.  Once I started riding my own,  the  other women  in  our  group  thought,  "Well,  if  Kristen  can  do  it,  anybody can!"   So within a  couple of months our  small group of 8 bikes going out  to dinner  multiplied to 16!   We all wondered how many other women were  like us, desiring to ride but  just didn't do  it.   So we decided  to  start a  riding group  for women because surely there were other women out there that rode or wanted to ride like we did.    

We were volunteering at the Rally In Tally in 2002 when we were asked if we'd like to have a booth to promote our group.  We thought, what a great idea!  So we opened up membership  to  all women  to  join  us.    Looking  back,  never would  I  have  imagined Chrome Divas to be where it is today!  From the day I launched www.chromedivas.com I was ecstatic to see five hits a day.  Today's numbers are over 300 hits a day!    

People often ask me, as the founder, how  it feels to have started something  like the Chrome Divas.   Proud would be one word  to  sum  it up.    I am not proud of myself,  I am proud of all  the members and  the directors who give  the Chrome Divas a positive name.  This organization truly would not be what it is without the members who have a pas‐sion for riding and giving back to the community.    I am excited about the new organization of Chrome Divas and am looking forward to more events, more camaraderie and more chapters on the horizon!    

Clutch, Throttle, Ride … Chrome Diva Style!   

The Executive Board consists of the Executive Director, Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.  They are supported by four Regional Directors, Assistant Regional Directors, an Editor, and Assistant Editor.  These committed women are dedicated to leading the organization into the future.    

The  Executive  Board  has  recently  secured  the  Chrome  Divas  as  a  non‐profit  501(c)(7)  organization.    A  501(c)(7) corporation is a “social club” that is granted nonprofit status by the IRS, a special designation that exempts it from some federal taxes.  By law, a 501(c)(7) “social club” must be organized for "pleasure, recreation and other similar non‐profitable purposes."   As with all 501(c) corporations, a 501(c)(7) “social club” cannot generate profits for its owners. The organization must derive at  least 65 percent of  its gross  income  from membership dues.   We are not a charity  organization and do not accept donations.  Chapters maintain their own bank accounts and operate independently of Chrome Divas, Inc.  It is up to each chapter to decide if they wish to apply for a non‐profit status with the IRS.   

Instead of “National” being the point of contact, the Board will be able to lead chapters and provide assistance when a chapter has a question or a concern that arises in their area.  They will lead by example and be a mentor.    

The following pages contain short biographies on each Board member so you can get to know them a little better!  

Jan Myers, Chair I  guess  you might  have  heard  this  before,  but  for me  it  speaks  volumes about  the Chrome Divas …  joining  the Divas changed my  life.    I was  lucky enough to retire (or quit, depending on how you look at it) from working in 1999.  I spent a few years dabbling as a consultant for several manufacturers before having enough. After all  those years on  the work  train, needless  to say, I was a little lost. But with the Chrome Divas I found a lifetime commit‐ment to helping make a difference in the community and the good part is … I get to have fun at the same time.  

After many years of not having a motorcycle (kids took precedent), my son bought his dad a beautiful Custom Harley Softail. Somehow my butt didn’t quite fit on the back so I took the safety course and began riding my own in 2001. I still wonder, what took me so long to ride my own motorcycle, I love it.    I was  driving my  husband  crazy  to  ride,  ride,  ride  so  I  think  he was  relieved when I was introduced to the Chrome Divas website by a friend and found other women riders in Jacksonville to hang out with.  

I  joined  the Chrome Divas  in 2003, activated  the dormant  Jacksonville Chapter and  served as Secretary  for 2 years.  After a parting of the ways in 2005, I am very proud to have been involved in the organization and growth of the Jack‐sonville Beaches Chapter. After a year as Secretary, I have served as Director for the past 4 years. I take great pride in the accomplishments we have achieved. Having the responsibilities of Director gave me a purpose and I take pleasure in guiding and organizing our chapter to make a difference in our community.  

With my Diva sisters, I have ridden the entire Blue Ridge Parkway from NC to VA, trekked to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and created  lifetime bonds and unbelievable memories. I am blessed with so many great friends and I can credit the Chrome Divas with helping us connect. What an outstanding bunch of women!  

I am honored to be appointed Chair of the Chrome Divas Board of Directors. I pledge to work hard and  listen well to achieve the goals set by the organization. Realizing that  it  is  impossible to please everyone,  I will dedicate myself to making decisions based on the best  interest of the Chrome Divas.  I am excited to work with the appointed Board to make our vision a reality.  

Diva Jan Myers, Jacksonville, FL, Chair of the Board, Chrome Divas, Inc. 

Jennifer Samioglou, Vice Chair Jennifer joined Chrome Divas in 2004 and was elected to the role of Assistant Director of the newly formed Jacksonville Beaches chapter  in 2005 where she served until be‐coming Treasurer for 2008 and 2009.  She is back to serving as Assistant Director of her chapter.  She is experienced in the area of human resources and will be a great asset to 

the  organization.  Jan  and  Jennifer  have worked  side  by  side  over  the  past  several years and have been an  integral part of  the success of their chapter. Together they make a great team.  

Nicole Seta (a/k/a Charley), Secretary Nicole  is  the  founder  and  has  been  the  Director  of  the  Cincinnati  Ohio's Chrome Diva Chapter for the past four years.  She has helped open and estab‐lish  the  Dayton Ohio  Chapter,  Northern  Kentucky  Chapter,  Two  Rivers,  KY, Chapter, and now Ohio’s newest chapter, Columbus. She has a great relation‐ship with all 5 chapters and still to this day, keeps in touch, rides together and inspires them to get more  involved with their community by holding Meet n’ Greets and chapter rides.   

She is known for her chapter to hold the one and only Night Run. Her chapter takes a  ride along  the Ohio River with 100+  riders and  the moonlight!   This ride and all other Cincy events benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Cincinnati.  Her chapters have raised $40,000 for Susan G. Komen and other events they're involved in.    

Nicole has a unique motorcycle. She has been riding a custom Kawasaki Vulcan  for 7 years now.    It's been modified from head  to  toe.  It  is covered with Gems purchased at Hobby Lobby.  lol. Her now  former husband had a guitar  in which was covered with the gems.   When  lying  in bed, she  looked over and said "I want my bike  like that."   So, they began sticking them on one at a time.  It took 40 hours and she still has more to put on.  She is working on more modi‐fications to the rear end (bigger tire, etc).  We're looking forward to the changes.   

She is the mother first, of her awesome children, Hailey (16), Giuliana (3) and is currently 4 1/2 mos. pregnant and also took  in two step‐children Donny (11) and Emma (6).   Needless to say, she has her hands full along with her chapter.  Her 16 yr. old daughter aspires to become a Diva in one‐half years.  She currently rides dirt bikes for practice.   

Nicole  loves the sisterhood and camaraderie stemmed from her chapter and chapter sisters.   Her chapter would tell you that they couldn’t do what they do without her dedication and commitment.  Nicole brings that commitment and dedication to the Board and will be a driving force for the future of the Chrome Divas.   

Christina Dravetsky, Treasurer Christina has been an active member of the Sierra Foothills Chapter in Northern California since February 2008.    In 2009, she held the position of Treasurer and has been elected Director  for 2010.    She’s been  riding  since 2000  and  rides  a 2003  Anniversary  Edition  1200  Custom  Harley‐Davidson.    Christina  is  also  an  active member of the Sac Valley Chrome Diva's and helps fill one of the roles of a Road  Captain,  encouraging  the  new  women  riders  to  follow  their  passion  of  becoming a female motorcycle rider (Chrome Diva, Motorcycle Rider!!!!).  Along with her passion  for motorcycling, and  the Chrome Divas, Christina brings 18+ years  of  bank  management  and  business  experience  to  the  Treasurer  position and will be an important asset to our future and growth.    

Did You Know? May is National Motorcycle Safety Month

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has designated May as Motorcycle Safety Month. Their 2010

“Share the Road” campaign is to remind drivers to be cognizant of motorcycle riders during the busier summer riding months.

Their motorcycle safety program focuses on three areas: preventing crashes, preventing crash-related injuries, and

limiting the seriousness of these injuries through appropriate emergency medical response. Visit their website at

Meet Your Regional Directors The new Regional Directors and Assistant Regional Directors will help our chapters grow and gain support and respect around  the country.   They will bring  together  the “sisterhood” of our organization and will help make  the Divas  the best we can be!  Among other things, they will be able to provide chapters with guidance on how to start a chapter and suggestions for running a successful chapter.  They, too, will lead by example and be a mentor.

Hello from Rochester, NY!  

I'm excited to be a Chrome Diva and part of our new National direction!   Thanks  to Della Crew, Hazel Kolb, Vivian Bales and  the Tallahassee, Florida Chrome Divas who  paved  the way, we  can,  easily  enjoy  being  lady  riders  today.  

A little bit about me: I never rode a motorcycle before 2003 but have always loved the sound of a Harley!    I wanted  to become  a  rider not  to  ride  competitively or  fast, but  because I love a challenge.  So, I took the MSF Learn to Ride, got my license and my Sporti, but, I really had no one to ride with.  

In 2006, I saw the Chrome Divas on a Sunday Morning television show.  I was impressed with their goals to provide a safe environment for women riders, give back  to  their  communities,  and  to  foster  a positive  image  for women motorcyclists.  Sharing their philosophy, I began the first New York State Chapter of Chrome Divas, est. March 11, 2006.  

Our Rochester, NY, Chapter includes a wonderful sisterhood of women from different backgrounds.  We enjoy motor‐cycling together, or with our diva dudes, friends or family.  We share great moments, both happy and sad, we’ve built great relationships, support our communities, and  simply  “Ride and Have Fun”.  

For me, Since “Sporti”, I’ve proudly graduated to a Harley Heritage Softail Classic named  “Scarlett”, which is a pleasure to ride.  I’m honored to serve as the Rochester, NY’s Chapter Director and National’s NE Regional Chapter Director.

Tammy Nacca, Assistant Director For as long as I can remember I had 4 wheels under me, until 5 years ago when I got on the back of a bike.   After a few short rides, I had to have my own. And in June 2005 I joined the Chrome Divas. 

In  the spring of 2006 Deb and  I  founded  the Rochester, NY Chapter.  I have been  the chapter Assistant Director since inception.  We've contributed to Coat Drives for local ABW homes, Can Drives for  local food pantries and Charity Rides. The caring and generosity handed out by our chapter members amazes me.   The times we share, the moments we steal, and the bonds we make are something special that can not be explained. I believe we have accomplished our goal of bringing women of different backgrounds and riding levels together to form a sisterhood.  I'm proud to be part of such a great group of ladies! Southeast Region Karen Chandler, Director Karen  is a native Floridian who resides  in O’Brien, Florida,  in rural Suwannee County.   She and her husband, Harmon, have three children and three grandchildren.   Karen  is a regis‐tered nurse and holds an additional Bachelors degree  in Health Care Administration.   She has been affiliated with Hospice for the past several years.    

Karen and her husband are avid motorcyclists and  she  loves  riding her Harley Road King Classic.    She  has  been  a National  Chrome Diva member  since  December  2002  and  is  a founding member of the Gainesville Chrome Diva Chapter and Director since 2004.    

The  Gainesville  Chrome  Divas  are  great supporters  of  numerous  charities  and  in 2010  they will be  raising monies  for  the Peaceful  Paths  Domestic  Violence  Net‐work.    For  the  last  four  years,  their Chrome  Diva  chapter  has  raised money for the Girl Scouts of the Gateway Council with the funds being designated for Sum‐mer Camps.    

Karen  is  excited  about  the  upcoming  changes  to  the  Chrome Diva  organization  and  looks  forward  to working with  the  Directors  and their chapters in the Southeast region.

Debi Thomas, Assistant Director Debi is the founder and director of the Chrome Divas of Orlando and has motivated and  excited  the  newly  formed  chapter  to  have  several  very  successful  charity events.   She has accomplished a  lot  in a very short time due to her mantra:   “With vision, dreams, enthusiasm, support and help from fellow divas, we can achieve any‐thing we so desire to create a successful organization and provide assistance to our community and our fellow Chrome Divas.”   We are excited Debi will be bringing her enthusiasm and passion to the organization on a National level.    

Debi also has an alter‐ego … Zazzoo  the Clown!   Zazzoo and  the Chrome Divas of Orlando  have  lead  and  ridden  in  parades  and  have  entertained  children  and  families in the Central Florida area.   

Angie Creamer, Director Angie founded the Dayton, Ohio, Chapter in July of 2008 and has since held the Director position.  She  has  developed  a  “sisterhood”  among  her  chapter members  and  has  a strong  desire  to  create  an  extended  family  of Divas  throughout  the Midwest  region.  Angie will be a great mentor to other chapters both new and existing and a vital member of the Board.   

Angie is a mother of three … 19 year old daughter, 15 year old son and 9 year old daughter. She and her boyfriend have been riding for years and enjoy getting out on the bikes every chance they  get.  She  brings  her  employment  background  in  Law  Enforcement and Protection to the table  in being the Director of the Dayton Chapter. She rides a 1999 Harley Davidson Super Glide Sport … “nothing like the rumble of those Harleys!”   

Angie has a strong commitment and dedication to the succession of the Chrome Divas.  “We all come different walks of life and backgrounds, each of the girls in my chapter have different skill levels and needs from our group, but one thing we all have in common is the camaraderie and the desire to promote women motorcycling in a positive and meaningful way. The Chrome Divas have been my passion and a huge part of my life for the past 2 years and my goal is to continue to promote my sisterhood in a positive and passionate way.  My commitment to this is solid!”       Being a Chrome Diva is not just about being a part of something, but being a part of an extended family of wonderful women striving towards educating our communities on women riders and raising awareness of ailments effecting all of us!   Their main charity  is  the Susan G. Komen  for  the Cure of  the Greater Cincinnati Area.   Their main slogan  is    ... "We are all about the Boobies" and "Saving the Boobies.” 

Midwest Region

Shannon Cox, Assistant Director Shannon has been  involved  in  the motorcycle community of Northern Kentucky  / Greater Cincinnati  for  the past 10 years.   She has been an active member  in  the Kentucky Bikers Association, serving as Products Coordinator with Q‐Tip of 2 Rivers for several years; an original member of the Kentucky Motorcycle Riders Organiza‐tion, serving as  their membership coordinator  for 3.5 years and was a  founder of the original Kentucky Bikers Chics.  Shannon also holds membership in the Christian  Motorcycle Association and an associate member of Creekside Social Riders.   Shannon and her long time boyfriend are avid motorcycle riders and parents to an 18 year old son and a 5 year old son.   She has made multiple trips to Sturgis, rode with  Rolling  Thunder  to Washington,  DC,  and  loves  regional  events  such  as  L’il  Sturgis and Tail of the Dragon.    Shannon earned her road name of "Angel" almost 10 years ago from another female rider, Mudd.  At the time, Mudd was one of the few women riders with the respect of the men  in NKY.   Mudd has since passed on, but the nickname has stuck!  Shannon currently rides a VTX 1300 that she purchased in 2003, prior to that she rode a Shadow VLX.  While their garage also includes an '83 Shovel and '00 Fatboy (that James rides daily), she loves the comfort and performance she has gotten out of the VTX.   When not riding or with her chapter she  is a children's Mental Health Therapist  in Cincinnati working with  inner city children and families.   They know her as the  'biker therapist'.   Riding has opened a  lot of doors for working with the families.   They see my bike outside or pics on the walls and feel more comfortable and trusting.   There  is something about knowing I'm a "biker" that helps them realize I'm not there to judge them or their lifestyles. 

Laura Sutter, Assistant Director Laura  joined  the  Sierra  Foothills  chapter  in  February  2009  and  is  currently  the “Raffle  Lady”  and  say’s  it’s  a  blast  because  she’s  a  little  goofy  and makes  it  an  explosive  time!    Laura  is  an  active member of  the  Sacramento Valley Chapter  as well.    She  is  a Road  Captain  for  both  Chapters  and  encourages  others  to  do  the same.   She currently rides a Harley VROD Nightrod  ’06  ‐ which she rides  like a bat out of hell; sporting a skull helmet.  Look out cruisers and rockets!  

Laura is an active member in her community along with volunteering at her daugh‐ter’s high school, Habitat for Humanity, OHS Boosters Clubs, and HOG Chapters.  Her next  activity  is  SOBER Grad Night  for  her  daughter,  Savannah, who  is  graduating from High School this year.  Laura has volunteered the Divas to park their motorcy‐cles  out  front  and  handle  security  for  the overnight bowl‐a‐thon – wearing leathers just 

to scare a few young graduates.   Meanwhile her younger daughter Lexie has a few more years in high school and enjoys riding on the back of her mom’s bike.  She’s sometimes too comfortable and falls asleep – Laura keeps telling her next time she’ll be Velcro‐ed to the seat.  

Laura’s dream would be getting every woman rider or motorcycle enthusiast to join the Chrome Divas, for them to experience the warmth and encouragement that the Chrome Divas give each other.   Women have a strong bond with each sisterhood that we love to share.    Remember I’m dreaming and dreams do come true if you believe! Ride often and enjoy! Diva Laurel  

Minnie Ozuna, Director My name is Minnie Ozuna and have been riding since 2000.  I currently own a 2001 Harley‐Davidson Dyna Superglide  T‐sport and a 2009 Harley‐Davidson Softail Crossbones.    

I  come  from  a  family of  bikers.    I  first  sat on  a motorcycle  at  the  age of  8  sitting  behind my father (back in the 70’s).  He would pick me up from school on his motor‐cycle and I couldn’t stop wanting to ride with him.  Unfortunately, dad had to sell the motorcycle  so  it was  years before  I  thought  about  it  again. When  I was  about 24,  I visited my mom’s cousin who  lived the biker  lifestyle  in the 70’s.   We talked about her  riding motorcycles  and  I was  in  awe  because  back  then  you  didn’t  see many women riding.  I told her that I wanted to ride but didn’t think I could.  She told me to follow her out back because she had to show me something. Well…she unveiled this gorgeous black and chrome softail and when she started  it up…I was sold!   She told me  I  could  do  anything  and  that  she would  sell me  her  bike.    At  the  time  I was  married and told hubby what she offered.  His response was “sure honey we can get it and you can ride on the back.”   Needless to say hubby  is no  longer around haha.  Unfortunately, it took a few more years before I realized my dream.    

In 1999, my  father got back  into  riding and  I  found myself on  the back of his bike again.   The experience reminded me of what my cousin said to me and  I was  itching to get out on my own so  I pur‐chased an 883 Harley‐Davidson Custom Sportster, took the MSF class and the rest is history! 

West Region

Support Staff Jeanne Giuliani, Editor Jeanne  has  been  a member  of  the  Chrome  Divas  since November  2004.    She  served  as  Director for 3 years (2006‐2008) and is currently one of two Road Captains.  While Director, Jeanne lead the chapter in raising over $50,000 for various charities.  They also donated 800 diapers  to  a  local  teenage pregnancy  center,  collected over  150  stuffed  animals  for  local  volunteer fire departments, 125 beanie babies for a local hospital’s neo‐natal intensive care unit, 50 old cell phones for the March of Dimes, over 250 Yoplait® yogurt lids for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, sent 16 care packages to the troops in Iraq, donated many clothes and toiletry items to local battered women shelters, and she started a can tab collection for the 

local Ronald McDonald House!  So far, the chap‐ter has  collected over  130  gallons of  can  tabs!  That’s almost 500,000 can tabs!  The Tallahassee chapter was voted the area’s 2007 Philanthropic  Organization of the Year!    

Jeanne also  served  for  two years as  Lead Road Captain  for  the  Tallahassee Harley Owners Group  (HOG).    She  currently serves as Activities Director  for HOG and  is also a proud member of  the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR), a member of the Moose on Bikes (MOB), and has been a member of  the Motor Maids since 2007.   She has put 70,000 miles on her Harley‐Davidson Dyna Wide Glide in 5 years and has ridden in 26 of the U.S. states and Mexico (thanks to her sister and brother‐in‐law).   

Debi “Dixxee” Crowder, Assistant Editor Hi! I am Dixxee.  I am your Assistant Editor.  I got my license in April of 2008.  I really started riding in April of 2009 when we could afford to buy my husband a new mo‐torcycle.    I put over 5000 miles on my bike  last year.      I  joined  the Chrome Diva’s because I wanted to find other like minded women.  The more I learned of the char‐ity work,  the more  interested  I became.    I became historian of  the Northern Ken‐tucky Chapter because my other hobby is photography.  

I am the proud mother of 3.  My daughter Chelsea, 19, just gave us our first grand‐son, Aiden, born 2/9/10.   My  son Dennis, 18, will be  graduating high  school  this year.  My son Joshua (Jay‐Jayh), 15, is a freshman.  Joshua is into football and wres‐tling which is what I do most of my photography in.  

My husband Dennis and I have been married 19 years.  We married in September of 1990.  He was in the Navy for 10 ½ years.  I married him after his first year in.  We have spent our entire adult  lives happily together.   He has been riding for over 20 years and enjoys having me ride alongside him.  

I am glad to be assisting Jeanne in bringing you the news of all the Chapters.  I hope to serve you all well and I certainly hope to meet most, if not all, of you out on the roads!  

When not riding, Jeanne spends time with her two boys, Caleb (26) and Chase (23), spends time on the computer,   and works as an IT Engineer with the Office of Legislative Information Technology Services (OLITS) in Tallahassee, FL.  

Meet & Greet at Daytona Bikeweek Article by Diva Andrea Ashmead, Historian/Editor, Jacksonville Beaches  

Bright sunny day.  Lots of bikes.  You couldn't have asked for a better Chrome Diva Meet and Greet in Daytona Beach for Bikeweek.  Seven Diva chapters were represented as we all pow‐wowed at Caribbean Jacks  on the water for Bike‐week.  Big time fun was had by all and we got to know each other just a little bit better.  Destined to be a yearly event, our Meet and Greet turned out to be a rousing success attended by chapters including Ocala, 2~Rivers Kentucky, Jack‐sonville Beaches, Orlando, Orange Park, New Smyrna and Gainesville Divas.  Hope we didn't leave anybody out.   

It was a perfect day and we're pretty confident everybody had a fabulous time as everyone gathered 'round for a very large group picture.  Frankly, this establishment may have to extend the dock just to make it big enough for our group photo next year.  We ate, we drank (like there was any question we'd be doing THAT!) and we made lots of new friends as all the Board members present took time out of their day to get to know one another.  Kudos to the organizers for getting the word out and I don't think there's a Diva out there who wouldn't agree this was a great idea that should be done more often!

Daytona Bike Week!  What a great time for women  to  gather  and  enjoy  riding.  For  those  lucky  enough  to  live  there, riding  season  can  be  year  round.    For those of us who get  to visit,  it  is a way to open the season.  This year, we made CBS Sunday Morning news.   Divas over‐took  ROAR Motorcycles  for Women  in Daytona founded by Kathy Tolleson.   

 

At ROAR was an unveiling of Diva  Wendy  Crayton’s  Mo‐torcycle.  ROAR received the bike  in  December  and  cus‐tomized  it  in  time  for  the unveiling  during  Daytona’s Bike Week.

Divas on CBS Sunday Morning

TIP:   The one golden rule on two wheels  is to “keep  it within personal  limits.”   Don’t worry about trying to keep up with the group or the bike in front of you.  You should ride within your limits so as not to cause harm to yourself or another rider.   Talk to your Road Captain about the best place  for you to ride  in the group.  Usually, newer  riders will  ride  in  the back,  just  in  front of  the gunner, and  learn as  they go.   We all  learn something new every time we ride!  Motorcycling is an acquired art that requires concentrated effort by all.
