Welcome to KCMIT

KCMIT was established in Kathmandu in 2000 A.D. under Tribhuvan University’s new direction to enter into collaboration with the private education sector to provide the most advanced education to the Nepalese students. Presently, KCMIT offers BIM and BBA programs in affiliation with Tribhuvan University. The student centric approach of our institution with academic facilities and resources are arguably the best in the nation and we are committed to offer what promising future leaders truly deserve. KCMIT aims to establish a strong academic foundation, achieve outstanding examination results and engender a mature and independent attitude vital for taking advantage of life’s opportunities. About us

How true Lord Tennyson was when he spoke about the brook. When I reflect on these lines, I feel the same applies to KCMIT. Students have come and gone, but KCMIT stands tall, radiating the warmth to all the family members of the past and present and waiting eagerly to usher the new.

For more than a decade we have moved along steadily and left an imperishable imprint in the history of education, not only as the pioneer college of the BIM Program and a firm up-coming college of the BBA Program, but also in grooming young ladies and gentlemen to face different challenges of the 21st century. Our growth has definitely not been flamboyant, but mature and dignified as year after year, our students have proved themselves in all walks of life - be it higher studies or the job market - KMCITians have carved their way through in this world of cut-throat competition. When success stories of our alumni are heard, a sense of gratifying joy envelopes the reigning atmosphere. These laurels which we cherish today are the outcome of the endless effort of the entire college family - the management, faculty, the administrative staff, the domestic staff and the students themselves. Each one has endeavored to elate the position of KCMIT in the education map; surely this is an accomplishment of the team spirit prevalent amongst the college community. Though we have established ourselves as an abode of learning and an institution which cares for the ethical, professional and social growth of the youth, who have taken shelter under our wings, we still have to go a long way to reach the goal we have set before us. Prior to sending out BIM and BBA graduates into the big, wide, world we want to send good human beings who will uplift themselves above all petty bickerings and spread the message of love and understanding to one and all.

BBA Course Structure

Chun Chun Shrestha, TU Topper, BBA (2011-2015)

BIM is a multi faceted discipline that focuses on both Information Technology and Management. It is an undergraduate academic degree requiring four years of study to acquire it. This degree is a hybrid program of management and information theory courses. It has 72 credit hours of information technology, 27 credit hours of management courses and 27 credit hours of analytical and support course. It was initiated by Tribhuvan University in 2000, this course is offered only in a few accountable colleges in Nepal.

BIM(Bachelor in Information Management) Why BIM ?

To be IT Professionals proficient in the use of computers and computational techniques, in order to develop effective information systems, to solve real life problems in the organizational milieu, develop skills in object-oriented software design methods and data management systems. BIM provides professional training to students by combining information technology with managerial skills. It prepares students to proceed on to post graduate level study in information management within and outside the country.

Our life is a reflection of decisions and choices we make. I chose KCMIT and in return I was blessed with a caring family in the form of friendly faculty members who were there to ease my hardship. All the time spent over those years, experimenting and learning some life changing lessons had made some amazing memories. It is said that “Nothing happens accidentally”. Now, I realize that it’s true since I found a reason for it as I earned a beautiful and never breaking bond with this wonderful family. All in all, KCMIT has played an irreplaceable part in my life’s story which will never have an end and I take complete pride to be called a KCMITian for my lifetime.

Extra Curricular Activities

ÔSportsThe college organizes the annual sports program which includes games like football, basketball, cricket, table tennis, chess, badminton etc. students also participate in inter college sports competitions.

ÔCIMA GBC 2012A global qualification providers for Management Accountants, CIMA, Organizes the Global Business challenge in line with the vision to produce future business leaders and change the lives around the world. The team from Kantipur comprising of Rochak Bhagat, Binay Regmi, Sandeep Gurung and Rama Mishra represented Nepal in the grand finale of GBC held in Sri-Lanka as Nepal’s champion in 2012.

ÔGaming for CharityKCMIT club has been engaged with programs for charity, the recent one being for the flood victims. Funds were raised, clothes and utensils were donated. Besides Gaming For Charity was also introduced for the first time to raise funds for charity. This type of social services has made KCMIT contribute its wee share in the face of national crisis.

ÔMusical ProgramThe college puts tremendous amount of effort to welcome the new students. Cultural Programs with music and dance are a way of showing their welcome gesture. At the same time they also show their talents in different fields like music, dances dramatics, etc.

ÔKCMIT ClubIn order to enhance the performance and creativity of the students, the college has created the KCMIT club. This provides a platform for students to initiate different activities. Students visit different schools located at remote places and around the valley to enhance their younger brothers’ and sisters’ knowledge in the field of IT. Through such programmers the students are able to send the message that we are all Gods’ children and we must help each other in the best possible way.

Students who have successfully completed intermediate or higher secondary examinations with minimum second division are eligible to apply.

Applicants are required to appear in the entrance test (CMAT) conducted by the Faculty of Management. The test follows the international testing patterns and standards. The college conducts preparation classes for the test.

KCMIT offers scholarships to the TU topper and semester toppers. KCMIT will award scholarships to the deserving students who successfully meet the criteria as specified by KCMIT.
