Edith and David Pequeño met in San Antonio, Texas and have been married for 32 years. Soon after they married they moved to Dallas to attend Dallas Baptist University, where they both graduated. David continued his studies at Southwestern Baptist Seminary and went back to DBU to get his M.A. in Theological Studies, he also has a M.S. degree from Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Edith received her M.S. degree from University of North Texas and an M.A. from U.T. Arlington. Edith and David feel they have received

two great blessings in life, one being salvation (Edit accepted Jesus as Savior when she was 6 and David when he was 15), and the other being when God blessed them with their son, Jonathan. Jonathan is now a student at Texas A&M and plays the violin during worship almost every Sunday at Central, where the Pequeños became members 6 years ago. Edith has been very active in going on mission trips with her son to Mexico and Honduras for many years. She also helped with Billy Graham Prayer Ministry while she was a student at DBU and now helps with the ministry here at Central, where she also teaches Bible Classes and discipleship for the women who are new believers in the Hispanic Ministry. David pastored two churches in Dallas and served as Chaplain for the Bureau of Prisons for 23 years. He is now retired and writing his first book on Redemption. Edith currently works full time as and Academic Advisor at Blinn, after working many years teaching Spanish part-time. The Pequeños feel blessed to have Edith’s parents living with them now after their son Jonathan moved out to become an independent young man.

Leaving a Legacy

“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto

myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry,

which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” - Acts 20:24

We all have two legacies: the one we’ve inherited and the one we’ll leave behind. We can’t do anything to change the legacy we inherited. We can’t reshape the lives of those who have gone before us.

We can do much about the legacy we will leave behind. For some, their legacy will be forever tied to their career or business achievements.

For others, their legacy will be tied to their hobbies or sports. For most believers, their legacy will be tied to their families and their faith. I can affect how my children and grandchildren will remember me. I will never know my great-great-grandchildren—- but they will know me

through the stories they hear about me. Will they remember I lived to testify to God’s grace in my life? When you pass on to eternity what do you suppose your legacy will be? What steps might you take even today to ensure your legacy will

point others to Christ?

“Father, let my life make an eternal difference.”
