Mission Statement
We, the parishioners of St. Anthony-Kalihi bonded in faith and love of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, give faithful witness to the love of
Jesus Christ in proclaiming the good news of salvation. We commit to the evangelization of the parish through spiritual renewal and formation. We promote justice, peace and respect for human life by caring and serving the poor, the sick and the needy. We firmly resolve to
further the mission for the glory and reign of God on earth.
Family Resources
Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:
• As a family, discuss the many different names for Jesus, such as Redeemer, Prince of Peace, Good Shepherd, Friend, etc. Which name for Jesus do you like best? Why? Which name for Jesus do you like least? Why?
• Create a collage that tells about Jesus. Cut pictures, words, or symbols out of magazines or newspapers and paste them on a paper plate. Display the collage in your home as a reminder of who Jesus is for your family.
• Invite family members to write three sentences which tell something about Jesus. When you gather for family prayer, invite each family member to share one sentence about Jesus.
• Each day this week pray especially for those who minister in the Church: our Pope, our bishop, our pastor, our deacons, our lay ministers, and all who serve our parish community.

A Stewardship Moment Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
Saint Paul reminds us in today’s second reading that the ultimate origin of everything is God. Since everything comes from God, we are God’s own. We can never put God in our debt. There is absolutely no negotiating with God. Every breath we take is a gift. Every good deed we perform is grace. Good stewards realize they are created and called to make the beauty, greatness, compassion and justice of God and his gifts known throughout the world. The stewardship question for us is whether we are willing to embrace this call, acknowledge our dependence on God and give our lives over to him completely for this purpose.
