We are pleased to present the Bishop Gorman High School 2013 Annual Financial Report for your review. Thanks to your generosity and unwavering support, the 2012-2013 fiscal year was a success. Most notably, we awarded over $1 million in tuition assistance to 30% of our student body fulfilling our mission to make a quality Catholic education available to a greater number of students. You can be assured that we continue to take our fiduciary responsibility seriously and are good stewards of the financial resources you so generously entrust to us.
Our students accomplished much this year, in the classroom, on the stage and athletic arenas and in our extracurricular activities. Our entire community contributes to these successes and we are grateful for your participation. Along with these successes we continue to challenge ourselves to grow and exceed expectations. On pages 6 and 7 you will see the latest addition to our campus which allows us to accommodate 1500 students. These latest updates include two new lecture halls, expanded student commons, new practice field, classrooms, and computer and science labs. As we look to our future, we are confident that we are taking the necessary steps to maintain our reputation of excellence in Catholic college preparatory education while keeping our community connected and involved in the process. Your involvement is more important than ever to help us reach our goals and continue to grow.
We are blessed to have active and dedicated donors whose support is vital to the school’s continued success. Together we can guarantee that Bishop Gorman remains steeped in tradition, grounded in our faith and on the cutting edge of educational innovation, thereby providing an environment that prepares our students for their post-secondary educational experience. Funds designated for tuition assistance, faculty enhancement and plant and facility maintenance have been established. These designated gifts are invested under the direction of the Investment Board. Interest and investment income can be used to provide greater continuing educational opportunities to our students and faculty members to make the Gorman experience possible for a more diverse student population. Named and/or memorial scholarships and grants have been established in coordination with the Bishop Gorman Advancement Office. Such awards are created with the intention of continuing assistance for each recipient throughout their four years at Bishop Gorman. Thank you to the individuals, families and foundations who have established academic awards to benefit deserving Bishop Gorman High School students. Investment Board.
• Deferred or Planned Gifts - benefactors and friends can include Bishop Gorman in their estate planning through
bequests, charitable trusts, annuities, insurance policies and securities.

Expanding our HorizonsMay 29th marked the ribbon cutting of the North Expansion. Members of our community joined together to celebrate the latest addition to the Bishop Gorman campus. Alongside Bishop Pepe, our president Mr. John Kilduff, and Principal Mr. Kevin Kiefer, the classroom building, lecture halls, quadrangle, and commons were dedicated and blessed amongst parents, teachers, alumni, and friends.
The new facilities include 10 traditional classrooms, 2 science labs, 2 computer labs, 2 lecture halls, a practice field, quadrangle, additional parking and an expansion to the Tiberti student commons. The picture to the left demonstrates the seamless continuity from the current campus to the North Expansion and depicts some of the highlights of this beautiful space.
Thanks to the dedication and professionalism of Chi Chi Bengochea ’80 and his team at Bentar Development, Joe Haley and staff at Fertitta Entertainment and KGA Architecture, the job was on time and under budget. We appreciate all their hard work which made this project such a success.
This additional space will allow us to increase our enrollment to 1500 students over time and reinforces our commitment to being a leader in quality, Catholic, college preparatory education. Next time you’re in the neighborhood, stop by to see the most recent enhancement to our campus….you are always welcome!

On Thursday, March 21st parents, alumni and friends gathered to honor Mike ’65& Patty Morrissey at the 31st Annual Knight of the Gael. Along with their children Megan
’02, letterman Sean Patrick, Erin ’06, and about 600 guests, we celebrated a couple who for decades have been generous donors, tireless volunteers, avid fans and loyal supporters. Their commitment to service can be felt all over the Las Vegas valley through the numerous organizations they help. Bishop Gorman is proud to call them Gaels and grateful for all they have done to make our community a better place in which to live.

This year’s Annual Wine Tasting event , Passport, took Bishop Gorman families, alumni & friends to sunny California! At our new location, Red Rock Resort poolside, guests enjoyed fun drinks, tasty food, great entertainment and of course, some delicious California wines! We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather as our emcee, Bryan Chan, guided us through the evening. The night began with a performance by our very own Davey Martinez ’13 and Maddie Alder ’13. We also had two other very special guests, The Desert Mermaids and The Bounty Hunters, to entertain while attendees sipped on all the best that Wirtz Beverage had to offer.
Along with the nineteen wines, five beers and two
specialty cocktails, The Boardwalk and Strawberry
Paloma, there was a wide variety of California-inspired
bites to enjoy! Nearly 70 amazing auction items were
bid on throughout the week and at the event with our
“text-in” silent auction raising money for our Tuition
Assistance Program.
The night was a big success and we could not have

On Saturday, March 2nd, nearly one-hundred parents, alumni & friends

shopping, and a real runway fashion show featuring the latest
trends for Spring, including prom dresses modeled by our students.
