RETIRED detectiveBrian Henstock stillfinds wife Rita veryarresting – after 50years of marriage.

The couple, of BaslowCrescent, Dodworth, cele-brated their golden wed-ding anniversary lastweek.

They met in Hemsworthone snowy night andwere married monthslater at St Helen’s Church.

Brian, 72, worked forthe West Riding and WestYorkshire police followedby South Yorkshire whenhe moved to Barnsley in1965.

Rita, 70, was an officeclerk at Lowfield storageand distribution whichused to be in Dodworth.

They have a daughter,Elizabeth, son, Richardand two granddaughters.

Hopping aboard anopen-top tram is best forthe clearest view, whileriding in a horse-drawncarriage could be a rom-antic treat, or you cansimply walk through theIlluminations, wrapped ina warm coat and eating abag of chips.
