New Teaching Model in Blended Learning Approach for Tanzania and International Orthopaedic Technologists at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo), Moshi, Tanzania.

The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine of KCMUCo is offering a Degree Course in Prosthetics & Orthotics onsite since 1997 for equivalent and direct entry students.A new concept and teaching methodology developed by Human Study, a teaching in-stitution specialized in the development and delivery of Blended Learning methodology in prosthetics and orthotics is offered from this year onwards for Tanzanian and other

interested Professionals of English speak-ing countries in Africa or other parts of the world.

Target GroupProfessionals who are employed in the field of Orthopaedic Technology and are quali-fied on Diploma level in Orthopaedic Tech-nology (Category II, WHO/ISPO) from an ISPO approved and recognized institution.

This course, which carefully inte-grates the theory with the prac-tical work using an eLearning programme, is designed to give the graduate the basic informa-tion and the practical skills that will be needed when he/she takes up employment as a pro-fessional Spinal Orthotics Tech-nologist.

The new project in the scope of "Establishing Partnerships in Training and Service Provision in Prosthetics and Orthotics Sector with the German Business Community", the KCMUCo and TATCOT in Tanzania has been agreed in December 2016.

One of the three Results is:DEVELOPMENT AND COMPOSITION OF BLENDED LEARNING EDUCATION PROGRAMS ACCORDING TO WHO/ISPO ACCREDITED STANDARD.

In close Professional collaboration between TATCOT and Human Study eV a second Certificate Course in Blended Learning Format will be developed and carried out by October 2019. The topic of the course is Lower Limb Prosthetics.
