Learning GoalsLearning Goals

Become Proficient with invocation of AutoCAD Drawing Commands

Create Basic AutoCAD 2-Dimensional Drawing Elements • e.g.; Lines, Circles, Ellipses and PolyGons

Use a Combination of ACAD 2D Element to construct more Complex 2D Shapes

RECTANGLE CommandRECTANGLE Command The RECTANGLE

command draws a rectangle whose sides are vertical and horizontal. • The position and size

of the rectangle are defined by picking two diagonal corners

A very Easy to use Command

To Invoke the Rectangle Command• PullDown Menu:

POLYGON CommandPOLYGON Command The Polygon

command can be used to draw any REGULAR polygon from 3 sides up to 1024 sides

POLYGON Requires 4 User Inputs1. number of sides

2. a pick-point for the polygon center

3. whether the polygon is inscribed or circumscribed

4. a pick point which determines both the radius of this imaginary I/C circle and the orientation of the polygon

POINT CommandPOINT Command The POINT

command inserts a point marker in the drawing at a position which you pick in the drawing window or at any co-ordinate location which you enter at the keyboard.

The default point style is a simple dot This is often difficult

to see The point style Can

Be Changed to something more easily visible or elaborate using the point style dialog box.
