About us
• Affiliated to ICSE Board, Dagshai Public School, Dagshai Cantt., India., located at a cool and bracing 6000 feet above sea level, less than 2 hours journey by car from Chandigarh, is a residential, Co-Educational English Medium School. Founded in 1957 by the Patriot-Poet-Philosopher, Late Bhai Ragbir Singh Bir, the Founder Chairman of the Atam Science Trust, the main objective of the school is to develop character and moral values while imparting excellence in education. He was succeeded by Mrs. Kuldeep Harbans Singh, an eminent educationalist, in 1974, as Chairperson of the Trust and the Managing Board of DPS. After her demise in 1977, S. Saran Singh I.A.S.(Retd.) Ex-Secretary, Government of India and Ex-advisor to the Governor of Assam, took over as Chairman. Under his inspiring leadership the School made tremendous progress on all fronts. His failing health however, compelled him to relinquish this position in 2011, but he continues to guide us as our Chairman Emeritus.

The school has well maintained and separate hostels for boys of Junior, Middle and Senior classes. There is a separate hostel for girls.

Solar plants facilitate ever-ready hot water in the hostels, in addition to geysers.
The hostels are managed by the hostel-in- charge, and prefects. The Warden-in-Chief supervises the functioning of all the hostels. There are whole time maid servants for looking after the children and maintaining the hostels.
