Boca Raton Hotel and ClubMain Hotel Master Plan

SWA provided master planning and landscape

architectural services for the historic Boca Raton Hotel,

which was designed by Addison Mizner in the 1920s. The

217-acre hotel site was determined to have potential for

resort condominium and hotel expansion. The project

also included expansion of the adjacent Royal Palm

Plaza shopping area and renovation of the Boca Raton

Beach Club, a beach-oriented, destination resort related

to the hotel.

The master plan attempts to better relate the hotel to

Lake Boca Raton, creating added visitor experiences and

opportunities for residents, including the redevelopment

of downtown Boca Raton. The hotel, which includes a

cabana club, an indoor-outdoor restaurant, and a pool

and deck, is carefully integrated into a delicate coastal

site by preserving large areas of existing vegetation,

including coastal hammocks and dunes.
