Where are distances calculated from?All distances are calculated from theBologna Central Station.Some buses depart from the train station while others depart from the bus station (5 minute walk from the train station).

I’m arriving by plane, how do I get to the Bologna Central Station?From the G.Marconi airport, there are two ways of reaching the station via public transport:1. TAXI: the two taxi companies C.A.T.

and CO.TA.BO. provide taxi services within the city. Authorised taxis are white and display a taxi sign on the roof of the car. Tariffs are regulated and it is possible to pay using cash or credit cards. Current regulations make it compulsory to accept payment by credit card only for payments above €30, therefore it is always better to ask before accepting the service.

2. AEROBUS: a shuttle service managed by Tper, Bologna’s transport department, which connects the airport to the city centre and train station. The first bus departs from the airport at 5:30 am and the last one at 00:15 am, while the first bus from the station departs at 5:00 am and the last one at 11:35 pm. A bus connects the airport to the station every 11 minutes between 7 am and 9:30 pm. The ticket costs €6 per person.

I do not have a private means of transport or a hired car. How can I move inside the metropolitan area?Public transport connects various points of interests. In addition, special routes are available during certain times of the year to reach various locations within the territory.

Where can I check bus and train times and buy tickets?As for buses, we recommend using tper.it, the official website of Tper, Bologna’s transport company. Here, you will find all updates on timetables and route variations. Tickets can be purchased from Tper points or authorised dealers such as tobacconists, bars and newsagents displaying the Tper logo. Otherwise the ticket can be purchased on board at a surcharge. If you travel by train, use trenitalia.it, the official website of the Italian state railway network. Tickets can be purchased on-line or at the station.
