● Many people die in war by being shot, blown up and being poisoned
● Lots of people think “the bigger, the better”, but in some circumstances they're wrong

10 - Sword
● Was used for a long period of time and is still used today
● From the size of a ruler to a couple metres long
● Most commonly used to slice the enemy
● One of the only protections against a sword was to wear metal armour

9 - English Longbow
● Used in 3 battles
● Bow was 2 metres, arrows were 1 metre
● Nicknamed “machine gun of the middle ages”
● Used about 45 kilograms of pressure to draw

8 - Stirrup
● Used in the middle ages and still used today
● Totally changed how to mount a horse
● Allowed the riders to fight with two-handed weapons while on horseback

7 - Land Mine
● Used from the middle ages to today
● Mines can be placed in the water as well as on land
● Hundreds of people are killed or injured each week

● Used from the middle ages to today
● Made of many different chemicals
● Known first as “black powder” in China
● Used to make many different explosives

5 - Battleship
● Used from the 15th century to the mid 1900's
● Hundreds of metres long and covered in weaponry
● Old battleships were made of wood, but today's are made of steel and have new technology, like radars and alarms
● A battleship floats because it's filled with air which is less dense than water

4 - Tank
● Used from the early 1900s to today
● Weighed about as much as an elephant
● Plated with hardened steel
● There are many different kinds of tanks, depending on the terrain

3 - Bomber
● Used from the early 1900s to today
● Can carry huge amounts of weaponry and explosives
● A bomber can have 52 metre wingspan

2 - Chemical and Biological Weapons
● Used from World War I to today
● Once it has contact the chemicals get inside a person and deal great damage
● The protection for these chemicals are: hood, mask, gloves, chemical protective suit, socks & over boots

● Used from mid 1900s to today
● About 15 feet in length, weighs 3 or 4 tonnes
●
● The explosion can demolish whole cities in minutes and cause great casualties by radiation poisoning
