“I had a very rewarding experience at the Advanced Higher CPD event at Aberdeen University. The demonstrators had gone to a lot of effort to create and lay out the various experiment ideas, and we were given lots of time to wander around and have a proper try of each. The best thing about it was that each experiment had been set up with school budgets in mind and none required any fancy equipment beyond what any science department would reasonably expect to have. Documentation comprising kit lists, diagrams and student instructions were provided, meaning I could go back to school and get cracking with some new activities right away. The impact of the event was in terms of a variety of new experimental ideas, some of which have provided alternative and imaginative ways of demonstrating existing practical concepts, and some which have added new activities to parts of the course that had previously been solely theoretical in nature. My students were engaged and feedback from them has been very positive. I shall be booking my place for this year!” Allan Reid Physics Teacher, Elgin Academy My students were engaged and feedback from them has been very positive.
