Ironically, in view of his own medical condition, Laurie Thompson also translated the series of ‘cancer diaries’ in the Guardian newspaper, London, by Henning Mankell, who died on 5 October 2015. They were published on 12 February, 22 March, 27 April, 22 May and 16 September 2014.
