    Dear Friends of Mexico:

    You will be happy to know that thru the intervention of a firm oflocal lawyers (*), the Mission has regained legal and , physicalposessiph of the Guaymas highway frontage property (Approx. 250'X 250') on which are located the shells of two brick buildings.Costs, including property payments and taxes not paid for sixyears vjere almost $500.00, (A former Mexican worker with "tEJeMission had been responsible for the property, but like the dogin Aesop's Fables, who could not eat the hay, but would not letthe cow do so, he neither utilized this property for the Lord'swork, nor let us do so.'). Legal fees, as yet unpaid amounted to$1600.00 with a 50^ discount for the Mission as a CharitableOrganization, or $800.00 net fees.

    As this is commercia^l property with highway frontage, (a motelis almost ready to open across the highway), it is unsuitable forthe present projects of the Mission, and will be listed "For Sale"with several -Realestate Brokers. However, first we must takecare of the years of neglect, clean up the property, refence it,and install ste^l-sash doors and windows in one of the brickbuildings so we can have a caretaker and his family on the property,("Abandoned" looking property brings a low price here in Mexicojust as it does in the U.S.). We expect to pay the legal feesout of the sale of the property.

    We would appreciate special offerings to repay the $500.00 weborrowed to pay property payments, taxes, etc., etc. Also,your thankful prayers to our God, the Most High.

    Please pray too for our Daily Vacation Bible Schools which beginJuly 6th. Mrs. Bowlin has prepared fine lessons sheets andhandwork, using the missionary theme, "Kings, Devils andCannibalesi" Also, a Step in the Plan of Salvation will betaught each day.

    Thank you for your continued financial assistance and your prayers.

    Yours for a Christian Western Mexico,

    GERALD D. BOWLINGDB;fem.(*) The father of the Jr. pardner of this law firm is a laypreacher, who is engaged in Visitation Evangelism and a Tuesdaynight class_^f_or New C

    s ::: A s 0 K 's greetings f r o the b o v/ l i n e1 Ql^yQ

    Seventeen was the ,aagic number for the month of Novemberi Thefirst part of the month we held our Seventeenth Annual PacificChristian Convention at the Ranchito (Eastside) Church here inHermosillo. The spirit was truly wonderful, and good Bible messageswere preached by our newest evangelist, Bro, Jose Tinajero, Lack oftransportation cut our attendance some, even tho we worked Geneva'sold 1952 V. V/. Kombi and Oscar's 19^9 Ranchero overtime#.., V/e reallyneed our ov/n bus, especially to bring in the folks from the villageof La r.'iesa.

    Then the latter part of the month seventeen young people from the"Crossbearers" group formed by the youth of all the ChristianChurches in Southern Arizona came down over the Thanksgiving holidays#They brought paint and brushes and painted the benches, pulpit,doors and shutters of the Ranchito Church. (Now at least they allmatch!) Did a good job too, and'even had time to spend a day and anight at the beach, (Kino Bay), where we borrowed a cabana for them.Carl Anderson, Minister, Pantano, Tucson, and our daughter Kathy,were the sponsors. Sunnyside, Tucson supplied the bus, and the youthraised their own money for expenses. The young people stayed in thehomes of the members of the Ranchito Church, and I am sure livingand eating in working class B^exican homes v/ere eye openers to them.Geneva had "pozole" a mexican soup made with hominy, for them onv/ednesday night when they arrived, and tacos and bean burros atNoon on Thursday, v/hen they painted at the Ranchito Church.

    Thank you for your help and prayers this year, and come down tosee us.
