Brandenburg Concerto No. 4
Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 for solo violin, two flutes and strings, was written in 1721 and dedicated to Christian Ludwig, the Margrave (Military Governor) of Brandenburg. This arrangement of the third movement merges the solo parts with the tutti strings. The principal theme is stated first by the violas and then reiterated by all sections throughout the movement. The style of the performance should be joyful and robust.
