In our fast pace world, it’s hard for families to spend time together—much less even eat together. We hurriedly grab a bite as we force ourselves to eat on the run. And yet, even sociologists are now recognizing the need to slow down and sit down around the dinner table as we share a meal together. Likewise as the family of God, we also need to come together, and one important way we can do so is whenever we gather around the table—the Lord’s Table. While we may schedule other times of fellowship in the church, they cannot replace the sense of community

we share as members of all ages come together to celebrate what the Lord’s Table represents. Russell Moore, president of our Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission as Southern Baptists, says it well when he writes, “In the supper, we confess ourselves to be sinners, together, and we proclaim, together, the gospel that restores us to right fellowship with God and with one another. We experience Jesus in our midst, serving us the kind of meal that connects us with the upper room in Jerusalem past and the marriage feast of the New Jerusalem future.” There is a reason the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is not to be observed simply in the privacy of one’s home, but rather is to be celebrated whenever the church gathers together. I hope you, therefore, will gather with us this Sunday morning as we celebrate the victory Christ won and the victory that can now be ours! Don’t forget to bring your shoeboxes for Operation Christmas child this Sunday night. We will pray over the boxes and then form our “assembly line” as we load them up in the church van. In His Service, Bro. Bob

Parents: Do not forget that this upcoming Wednesday the youth are going to Skyzone

in Lexington. We will leave the church at 5:15 PM. The cost is $13 and then they will need

money to eat afterwards. If they have gone to Skyzone in the past year their release form

should be on file, but if not you need to complete a form at

https://lexingtonstore.skyzone.com/waiver/

On the 22nd we are delivering meals to our church members who are shut in. If you could help by

providing a dish as part of a thanksgiving meal it would be greatly appreciated. Please arrive at the

youth center at 5 with the food. For His Name Sake, Zach

There’s no way this month is already halfway over!

Attention Parents/Guardians of 4th – 6th graders:

We will be having our first annual Thankfest Lock-in next Saturday, November 20th from 6pm to 8am the following morning. This mini-

retreat will be focused on centering our hearts around Christ and thankfulness as we enter the holiday season. There will be worship,

food, fun, and games as well as our November mission focus – Operation Christmas Child.

Speaking of which..... Please do not forget to bring in your Operation Christmas Child item this week. This week we are collecting extras from any of

the previous item groups: small stuffed animal or doll, small toys/games, non-liquid toiletry items, and school supplies. If you have yet to bring in some

of these items, feel free to bring them in anytime before our Lock-in. Remember, any age kids involved in our children’s ministry activities may bring

these items that will go towards reducing your cost for our aquarium trip in January!

Parents/Guardians of Christmas Musical Cast members:

There will be NO REHEARSAL this Sunday. We will resume practices on Wednesday, November 18th for groups A & B. Make sure they are memoriz-

ing their lines and reading over their parts daily...the play is only a month away! Have a great week! Cheerfully in Christ, Jeremy Sivils

Worship Music for Sunday (November 15) This Sunday we will observe the Lord’s Supper at both morn-

ing services! Bro. Bob will be preaching the message from 1 John 5:1-5, also at BOTH am services! We will

have a special song by Breanna and Julie Blackburn to begin both of our a.m. services! Our praise team will

lead the worship music for the 8:30 a.m. service! The Blackburn sisters will open the 10:50 a.m. Service!

Plus, Bro. Roy Toney will share a solo! And, the Worship Choir will sing the up-beat favorite: "Smoky Mountain

Gospel Medley," just before Bro. Bob's message! Lance and Michael will play the instruments for the 10:50 a.m. service!

Sunday night we will meet for D-Groups at 6:00! Bro. Bob will teach our introduction for this week’s readings: Chapter 8

and Chapter 9! And, we will be receiving the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child! We will load the boxes onto a

church vehicle at 6:30 before we separate into our groups!

Christmas Music Worship Event at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary On Saturday, December 5, the Billy Gra-

ham School of Biblical Worship will join with Sojourn Music, Sovereign Grace Music, and Highview Baptist Worship Min-

istry to present a musical celebration of Christmas through scripture and song! Our church will be taking the minibus for

the 4 p.m. matinee in the Alumni Chapel! Tickets are $8 per person! The bus only holds 14, so see Mark or Janis Logsdon
