What I do:Being a lifestyle and family photographer has opened me up to the inspiration of lifes most beautiful moments and countless love stories! I am honored every time I am chosen to share in these memories.

During a pregnancy there are so many things to celebrate. I love telling the story of how your family is preparing for the arrival of your new baby through photojournalism while also showcasing the beauty of a glowing pregnant mommy-to-be with some in studio portraits! Even if you don’t feel very beautiful, rest assured, you will look stunning in every image. Because this is your story, feel free to bring your partner, the kids and even your pets

Life style sessions:When you book a Maternity or Newborn session with me you have the choice of doing your sessions at home, outdoors, in my studio or a combination of all the above! When you choose to do your session at home your images will have more of a photo journalistic feel; this means that focus will be more on natural candid photographs.

Studio sessions:If you want to look posed and experiment with more fine art style shots then a studio session might be better suited for you. A pre session consultation will help us determine which locations are right for you.

What you need to know:When: Typically I photograph women 8 weeks before their due date. A little bit before or after this time is OK too. This is so I can make sure you are comfortable in various poses. I will never ask you to do a pose that is unsafe or feels uncomfortable. Another reason I like to photograph women 8 weeks prior is so we are not at risk of missing the session due to a premature arrival.

What to wear: As I said before I want you to be as comfortable as possible. So bring clothing that is easy to move in and you feel good in. You will want to bring light options for studio shots and seasonally appropriate options if you choose to be photographed out-doors. Clothes that fit tightly to your body will look best because they will highlight your pregnant shape. I always recommend neutral colored clothing but adding little pops of color can look great - just keep in mind that your clothing should be free of any graphics or bold patterns. I love the look of flowing skirts and dresses for artistic maternity shots but if you don’t have anything that will work we can use fabric.

What to bring: I think its wonderful when clients bring props to help make their images more special to them. Props might include pink or blue balloons or toys to indicate the gender of your baby, shoes or items that you have purchased for your baby or items that are unique to your family, such as home made blankets or family heirlooms. You may also want to bring a snack in case we go to multiple locations and you become hungry - after all you are eating for two.

Bringing the family: You always have the option of including your partner and family in your session. Even your furry family! Just keep in mind children can become easily bored with the process and toddlers may not always be cooperative. If we need to we can break up the session so that the portion including your children is short and then we come back to doing more images of you after. If your preference is to get it all done in one shoot, a friend or family member tagging along could help keep those little ones preoccupied.

To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and undoubtedly inhabited.
