our homes purpose is to be a centre of excellence for skilled dementia care within our local community and to enable each resident to retain their unique identity, to reach their full potential and retain a sense of purpose. We reach out into the local community who engage with our knowledgeable, skilled, and diverse staff team to meet the real physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of the residents of the home. We are known for the love we show to every individual who enters the door of our home, and for the respect and dignity we promote.

Your surroundings...

We believe that with our happy, homely environment and caring competent staff, we provide the next best thing to being at home.  We offer companionship, choice, excellent food and personalised social activities, with many opportunities to socialise, in a variety of day rooms and lounge areas.  our care home is furnished with large comfy seating, incorporating the latest in safety equipment, whilst maintaining a home from home feeling.

residents can pursue their hobbies, watch television, listen to music or read in our communal and quiet lounges.

outside there are attractive, well tended patio areas and a sensory garden with plenty of seating areas where residents can enjoy the garden. There is a sheltered wheelchair accessible patio with multiple bird tables and feeders, providing plenty of wildlife entertainment. raised beds are provided for residents who enjoy gardening, and plenty of seating makes it a great place for relaxing and socialising with family and friends when they visit.

Food for thought...

Dining is a social occasion here at Broadgate and our dining room is warm and welcoming. The tables are laid with fresh flowers and linen and our menus are on display to show the choices available. residents are encouraged to eat in the dining room but can choose to eat in their own room if they wish. We encourage family and friends to join us for meals or afternoon tea anytime. We also cater for special celebrations for our residents such as birthdays and anniversaries.

our menus consist of home-cooked, nutritionally balanced meals prepared in our own kitchen and made from quality ingredients. menus are prepared in consultation with our dietician, with input from our residents, to ensure that cultural and personal preferences are considered, while achieving a balanced nutritious diet. The main meal of the day is lunch, with a lighter meal served in the evening. all meals offer a choice of menu options. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are available at all times.

A restful night...

We have 40 single rooms with a choice of views, all of which have en suite toilets, comfortable fully adjustable beds and a nurse call system. additionally, there are communal bathrooms with assisted baths or shower rooms on each floor.

residents can choose how they want their rooms decorated, and they are encouraged to personalise them with their own furniture pieces, photos and other mementos to ease the transition, and to further add to the homely atmosphere.

Keeping active...

our activities co-ordinator organises activities tailored to our residents’ preferences and includes arts and crafts, quizzes and live entertainment. all activities are completely optional, but for those who wish to participate a programme is displayed around the home and within our regular newsletter. our activities include:

• group and one to one activities• Fund raising events• regular trips to local pubs, shops and parks • Flower arranging, music therapy and arts and crafts• exercise sessions• Visits from professional entertainers and performances by local school children • in house sweet shop

The perfect location our home is situated on the outskirts of Beeston town centre, and next to the West gate of nottingham University. This lovely location means that we are well served by local buses and have good access to local amenities such as shops, churches and also the train station a mile away.

When you look out of our windows you can see regular day to day life, either traffic and people passing by, or green gardens and parks.

How to find ustravelling from m1 - our home is found from junction 25 of m1, follow a52 toward nottingham until you arrive at toby carvery roundabout. turn right onto Woodside road and turn right again at next roundabout, by University West gate. You will then see Broadgate on your left.

travelling around nottingham - Follow the a52 from Queens medical centre to toby carvery, turn left onto Woodside road then right at University West gate. We are on the number 36 bus route, which usually stops outside the home.
