This two-day course will expose participants to recent developments in the diagnostic and therapeutic role of bronchoscopy and medical thoracoscopy in lung cancer. This interactive
learning experience is intended to increase knowledge and skill level participation in hands-on training sessions on goat carcass airways and thoracic cage tissues which will provide skill building in BAL, EBBx, TBBx, conventional TBNA, rigid bronchoscopy, thermo and cryoablation techniques, medical thoracoscopy, small bore chest drain insertion and indwelling pleural catheter placement. No matter what your skill level is, attending this weekend workshop will enable you to learn, expand your skills, and improve your practice. In addition to update your knowledge on recen multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) approach in lung cancer care
The programme includes:Didactic lectures. (25% of the course)Interactive clinical cases, quizzes, video projections (15% of the course)Step-by-step hands-on sessions. (60% of the course)
Target Audience:The workshop is intended for doctors who are training in pulmonary medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, Oncologists, critical care and anesthetics. It is also useful for consultants who want to refine their skills
Course Objectives:Demonstrate different diagnostic bronchoscopic sampling TechniquesDescribe airway management during advanced therapeutic bronchoscopy proceduresDemonstrate management of malignant pleural effusions using medical thoracoscopy, small bore chest drain insertion or indwelling pleural catheter placementDescribe the role of multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) approach in lung cancer care
