DESIGN UPDATE – MASCOT SELECTION

• Presented Mascot options to 4th

, 5th

, 6th

grade

students at: Brookland Educational Campus,

Burroughs, Langdon, Noyes at lunchtime

meetings .

• Students voted to rank the options in order of

preference



DESIGN UPDATE – MASCOT SELECTION

• Students to be notified in next two

weeks via take-home notice

• Notice will include DCPS information

about the school

PUBLIC ART

• 97 Entries from 52 artists. 21 selected as semi-finalists

• Semi finalists announced for each area

• Entry Plaza (Community) - 8 semi finalists

• Atrium – likely hanging (Diversity) – 4 semi-finalists

• Outdoor Classroom (Sustainability) – 6 semi finalists

• Michigan Ave (Brookland) – 4 semi finalists

• Main Lobby (Performing Arts) – 6 semi finalists

• Semi-finalists will tour the school in early May, submit proposal in late

May, and present to the community in June before selections are

made in July

school during mascot presentations

• Updated SIT will begin to shift focus to

school academics and enrollment



NEXT STEPS

• Present Curb Cuts for Parking Lot to ANC, April 23, 2014
