The Housing Authority of Dekalb County and its Master Development team, the NorSouth Companies and The Collaborative Firm, are redeveloping the former Johnson Ferry East public housing site into Brookleigh, a model mixed-use, mixed-income community of homes, shops and restaurants.

The concept for Brookleigh is a multi-generational community of neighborhoods centered around a park and a village of stores and restaurants, all built to sustainable standards and connected - with each other and surrounding neighborhoods – by sidewalks and a multipurpose PATH trail.

ii. DRI (Development of Regional Impact) approval for 836 Housing Units in December 2006

iii. Pc-2 Zoning Plan (approved March 2007)– 182 units for HearthSide Brookleigh– 71,250 s.f. of retail– 52 Townhome & Condo units over retail shops– 208 units of luxury apartments

iv. Tract C: Current zoning of RM- 75 (18 units/ac) planned for 130 Single Family and Townhomes. Zoning allows 220 apartment units
