Your gift will provide a child with both Hearing and Speech-Language

Screenings, ensuring that the needs of a child with hearing loss and/or

language delay do not go undetected. This early intervention can prevent

additional delays in speech, language, cognitive, and social

development.

H E A R I N G E V A L U A T I O N & C O N S U L T A T I O N

Your gift will provide an individual experiencing hearing impairment

with a Hearing Evaluation and Consultation. This evaluation and

consultation will help determine an individual's cause, degree, and

type of hearing loss to ensure the best course of audiology treatment.

Your gift will provide a child with a diagnostic Speech-Language

Evaluation and Consultation. During this evaluation and consultation, a

speech-language pathologist will establish a diagnosis of a child's

language development and create an individualized plan to help the

child effectively communicate in all areas of their life.

Your gift will provide an individual with hearing aids. Without hearing aids,

an individual with untreated hearing loss is at increased risk for

depression, social isolation, and cognitive decline. Hearing aids help

prevent these issues and greatly improve an individual's independence

and quality of life.

Northeast Florida needs our help. Last year, 67% of preschool children that

we tested in Jacksonville’s Urban Core failed their speech-language tests—

57 percentage points higher than the national average. Additionally, census

numbers suggest that within the City of Jacksonville alone, those with

hearing loss account for approximately 822,229 individuals.

Without your support, it is likely that many of these individuals in need of

essential speech-language and audiology services will go untreated. You
