We love that you have all embraced the challenge and worked together as families to learn so much about castles. This shows a really deep interest in learning. A recent visitor said ‘I am so impressed to see such dedication to learning from children so young. I actually can’t believe these castles were made by children in Year 1 and 2. How lucky are they to have families who worked together? I can just imagine the conversations about castles and where they are. It is such a great idea I am going to share it at my school.’ Congratulations to all of the children who took part in this project. We are all very proud of you.

PE Kit:

• White T-shirt , dark shorts

• Suitable footwear – Trainers (Girls and Boys)

• PE Kits should be stored in an appropriate bag (such as a drawstring bag) that can be hung up in the cloakroom

area. Each item should be named.

• Swimming: girls must wear a one-piece swimming costume. Boys must wear trunks or ‘short’ swimming shorts

(not baggy Bermuda type shorts).

Jewellery:

For Health and Safety reasons, we do not allow children to wear jewellery in school. The exception to this rule is a

watch.

Earrings are not allowed under any circumstances. Pupils should remove earrings for school. When getting ears

pierced for the first time, this should take place at the start of the summer holidays so that the earring holes do not

close during the school day. Plasters worn over earrings are not acceptable.

Hair:

• Hairstyles should be reasonable and appropriate for being in a learning environment at school. Extreme

hairstyles are not acceptable at school. This would include shaved patterns in the scalp, Mohicans and

unnaturally coloured dyes.

• All children, girls and boys, are required to have their hair tied back, if long enough.

• Hair accessories such as bobbles, headbands and hair slides should be plain and in neutral or school uniform

colours. Very large bows and brightly coloured hair accessories are not appropriate.

Make-up is not acceptable under any circumstances, including nail varnish. Fake tattoos are not appropriate at

school and must be removed without trace. A child coming to school with fake tattoos will be asked to remove them.

Wednesday back in school, 24th

April.

A fond farewell to Mr Luckman

Mr Luckman will be leaving us shortly after the May holiday. He is emigrating to Canada after falling in love

with the country on his sabbatical a year ago. Mr Luckman has been a teacher with us for over 6 years and

will certainly be missed by all the staff and many children whom have been taught by him. We wish him

well for his future. A separate letter to Mr Luckman’s class has been sent with details about their new

teacher joining us after the May holiday. We are so looking forward to welcoming Mrs Ingram to our team.
