We have undergone our authorization visit for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) at the elementary level and are awaiting final distinction as an IB World School. The IB Programme focuses on the development of the whole person as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It provides a framework of learning that encourages students to become creative, critical, and reflective thinkers while fostering the development of skills for communication, intercultural understanding, and global engagement that are essential for life in the 21st century.
Students learn big concepts through 6 transdisciplinary themes. Each grade level has distinct central ideas and lines of inquiry for which they will investigate.1. Who we are2. How we express ourselves3. How the world works4. How we organize ourselves5. Sharing the planet6. Where we are in place and time
